NUMBER: 13-5-1 APPROVED DATE: 01-03-1996

PURPOSE:  To define the College's process for media (audio and video) duplication/digital conversion for curriculum support.

  1. REQUEST
All request for duplication/conversion of audio and video media must be reviewed and approved by the Dean of Learning Resources before any duplication is made.  Once approved, duplication requests are made directly to the Director of Distance Learning.
  2. LEAD TIME
To ensure time for obtaining necessary copyrights and duplications, requests for duplication of audio and video tapes for classroom instruction need to be submitted a minimum of six (6) weeks prior to the date needed.
  3. DUPLICATION EVALUATION
The Dean of Learning Resources evaluates whether the requested duplication is in compliance with copyright law.  If the request is not in compliance with copyright law, the Dean of Learning Resources or a designee will work with the requester to obtain permission to duplicate.  If the request is copyright compliant, the requestor is referred to the Director of Distance Learning for duplication/digital conversions.
  4. COMPLETION OF REQUEST
The Dean of Learning Resources will notify the requester when the project is completed.
