Many abilities and skills are essential to success in today’s office environment, including the ability to use computers, standard office equipment and a wide array of software applications (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, database, email and computerized scheduling programs). Other pertinent skills include information processing and other software application skills, strong interpersonal communication skills, critical thinking and attention to detail. General business concepts and skills, including accounting, marketing, communications and problem solving are also helpful.
