First-time Freshmen Admission Requirements

You are a first-time freshman if you have not attended any other approved, regionally accredited postsecondary institution.

Application - YES

You may apply online or complete a paper application and return it to any of our four campuses.

Application Fee - YES

The $30 application fee is nonrefundable. If you apply online, the fee must be paid before you can submit your application.

High School Diploma/Transcript- YES

You must provide proof of completion of a high school diploma or GED. Acceptable forms of proof of high school graduation include:

  • high school transcript
  • high school or GED diploma
  • military record verifying high school completion

Note: A high school certificate of completion is not acceptable proof. While official transcripts are not required, they may be needed for scholarship purposes. TTC has a limited number of programs that do not require a high school diploma or GED.

English Proficiency - YES

Submit one of the following:

  • Qualifying SAT (480 Critical Reading; 530 Revised SAT Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing)
  • Qualifying ACT (19 English)
  • Take the TTC placement test

Math Proficiency - YES

Submit one of the following:

  • Qualifying SAT (580 Math; 600 Revised Math)
  • Qualifying ACT (22 Math)
  • Take the TTC Placement Test

Proof of Citizenship - YES

Submit one of the following:

  • South Carolina driver's license
  • ID
  • FAFSA Student Aid Report

Transient Permission - NO

Transient permission is only required of students who are currently enrolled at another college and wish to take courses at TTC to transfer back to their home institution.
