The Trident Technical College (TTC) Cybersecurity Operations Clinic will support the development of cyber readiness in local small to medium-sized organizations, with a focus on small businesses and non-profits. With faculty support, TTC Cybersecurity Operations Clinic student interns will provide free cybersecurity assessments and training to clients as well as training and outreach to additional community organizations.
A Cybersecurity Clinic is no different than the traditional clinics you may find at colleges and universities (examples: Dental, Veterinary, Cosmetology, etc.) A Cybersecurity Clinic will provide free security assessments, recommendations, and workshops to under-resourced small businesses and/or non-profit organizations.
The TTC Cyber Operations Clinic staff will operate out Trident Technical College’s Thornley Campus in North Charleston, SC. There is no physical office. Threat assessment teams and clinic workers (students) will be deployed to the business client’s location to complete an industry-specific threat assessment.
The clinic workers are students in Trident Technical College’s associate in applied science in Cybersecurity. TTC is the first two-year school in the state of South Carolina to offer a 2-year degree in Cybersecurity. TTC is also the first 2-year college in the state of SC to be designated a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE).
Clinic workers must be current AAS. Cybersecurity students at Trident Technical College and must complete the following:
- Minimum of 30-credit hours towards their degree
- Meet eligibility requirements to take the cybersecurity internship course
- Earned passing grades in courses that cover information assurance, network fundamentals, system administration and ethical hacking
- Successfully pass through the interview process
Yes. All clinic workers will receive a stipend at the end of the project/course. Clinic workers will be notified of the specified stipend amount prior to the beginning of the project/course.
