Palmetto Cyber Defense Competition (PCDC) 2023 April 15 - 17, 2023

PCDC is hosted by the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic in collaboration with the Lowcountry Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). PCDC will be held at Trident Technical College April 15–17, 2023. The competition is broken out for a High School day, College day, and Pro day. This competition is reflective of a real world scenario and not a Capture-the-Flag event.

2023 Hack Warz @ PCDC – April 15

The event will be part of the Palmetto Cyber Defense Competition (PCDC) held at the Trident Technical College help on April 15, 2023. Hack Warz® @ PCDC will be held on the first day of PCDC in collaboration with Life Cycle Engineering® (LCE) and will be held in-person. LCE’s Hack Warz® is an event that is intended to help participants learn about security while also allowing cybersecurity students to hone their skills. This is a Capture-the-Flag event.

BSides Charleston – Nov. 18-19, 2022

BSides Charleston is an annual CyberSecurity Conference which is taking place on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022 at Folly Beach.

This event is a great opportunity to learn more about Cybersecurity and network with security professionals from around our area.

Bsides is also offering four free workshops, which will take place at the College of Charleston on Friday evening Nov. 18, 2022.

Hack@SCHack – Saturday, November 5, 2022 – Held at Denmark Technical College, Denmark, SC

“Hack @ SChack” ’22 is an exciting hacking competition for SC Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Trident Technical College underrepresented minority students to hone their cyber security and computer science skills. The Hack@SChack Hackathon is a Capture-the-Flag event to stretch your security muscle and have FUN! Hack Warz® is a cyber-range testing and training environment consisting of a virtual environment that is used for cyber defense and offense testing and training.

TRIDENT TECHNICAL COLLEGE WINS HACKING COMPETITION

2022 National Cybersecurity Virtual Career Fair

Friday, Sept. 16, 2022 9 a.m.-1 p.m. PDT

The National Cybersecurity Training and Education (NCyTE) Center and the Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cybersecurity Community are hosting the sixth annual National Cybersecurity Virtual Career Fair on September 16, 2022, from 9:00 am-1:00 pm PT.

As the CAE in Cybersecurity program continues to designate new CAEs, the number of students participating in the VCF grows each year. Last year, over 1100 students and alumni participated in the virtual career fair. Employers from industry, government, and academia will be present seeking top cyber talent from over 380 institutions designated as Centers of Academic Excellence in Research (CAER), Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), and Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), and institutions in the Candidate's Program (pending approval).

This event is open to students and alumni from institutions designated as Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity. Trident Technical College is designated as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity.

Brown Bag Workshop: Docker Containerization

Wednesday, July 20, 2022 noon-1 p.m.

This workshop will introduce attendees to Docker Containers. The first 24 individuals that RSVP will be able to participate in the hands-on activity. The attached flyer has information about the event.

DoD Cyber Scholarship Program (DoD CySP)

Because Trident Technical College is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAEC), our students can participate and apply for the DoD CySP. You must have your application submitted by the end of January 2022. Please see the attached document for information and links on how to do this.
