The 29th Trident Technical College Spring Spin-Off Car Show was held on Saturday, April 29, on a sunny day perfect for people to show off their vehicles.

This year, there were 350 cars on display and approximately 3,000 visitors. Spaces filled up quickly so there is talk about expanding to adjoining lots on campus.

“Fortunately, we have plenty of room for more cars and trucks,” said Buzz Varella, TTC Automotive Program Coordinator.

“It was great to have such a large turn out and to see so many old friends. I thought we’d have to open a new lot just for the Chevy C10 Club. We’re really looking forward to the 30th anniversary next year and we’re grateful to have the support of Hendrick Automotive and others that make the Spin-Off possible.”

Clint Snider, Automotive Program faculty, noted, “We’re always looking to improve the show. This year we had large video screens, an app for voting and six food trucks, with more new items on the horizon for next year.”

The Spin-Off is the largest auto show in the Lowcountry and sponsorship from Hendrick Automotive, Napa Auto Parts, Elite Towing, SC Federal Credit Union, Parks Auto Parts and Crews Chevrolet made it possible.

Steve Strickland, General Manager for Hendrick Lexus, said, “Hendrick Automotive is happy to continue to support the event and the auto program. Trident Tech has been a great force for training and education in the Lowcounty. The car show has grown every year and we look forward to being part of future events.”

Support for the TTC Spring Spin-Off Car Show benefits the Automotive Technology Program.
