  • A General Approach to Modernizing Manufacturing Systems: Explore the principles of Industry 4.0 and related frameworks and standards. Know about smart and digital manufacturing systems and a general framework for implementing such systems.
  • Introduction to Ignition Software: Learn about Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and how to install, configure, and utilize Ignition software to build basic digital tools.
  • Building Digital Dashboards: Hands-on activities will take you through creating custom dashboards that visualize real-time data and integrate seamlessly with manufacturing systems.
  • AI/ML in Modernizing Manufacturing Systems: Experts from Clemson University will share practical applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance manufacturing processes, including process control and quality monitoring.

This workshop is a collaborative effort between Clemson University and Trident Technical College, sponsored by the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) and supported by Inductive Automation as part of an SCRA-SACT project entitled “Modernizing South Carolina Manufacturing to Enabling Industry 4.0”. Attendees will benefit from the combined expertise of academic scholars and industry experts through this collaborative effort. All the attendees successfully completing this workshop will receive a certificate of completion from Trident Technical College.
