How do I apply to graduate?

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! To apply for graduation, you need to first confirm with your advisor that all program requirements are met. You will then complete the Graduation Application through Self-Service.

If you are completing your program of study in Summer 2023, Fall 2023, or Spring 2024 semester and plan to participate in the 2024 Graduation Ceremony, the deadline to apply for graduation is Monday, March 18, 2024 by 5 p.m.

How do I purchase graduation regalia?

Graduation regalia (cap, gown and tassel) is required for all students participating in the graduation ceremony. You can purchase your graduation regalia at the TTC Bookstore or online. The last day to purchase/order your graduation regalia for the 2024 Graduation Ceremony is Monday, March 18, 2024. You CAN use your financial aid bookstore credit to purchase graduation regalia. For any questions related to purchasing graduation regalia, contact the TTC Bookstore at (843) 574-6164.

How do I run a degree evaluation?

You can run a degree evaluation through TTC Self-Service. This report will show all degree requirements that are met and which are outstanding. Prior to applying for graduation, you should review your degree evaluation to confirm all requirements are met or will be met by the end of the semester. If you have questions, you are encouraged to reach out to your academic advisor.

What is a course substitution?

Your academic advisor will identify when a course substitution may be appropriate and approval will be determined by the dean of your academic program. You can find details about the policy and procedures for course substitutions by clicking here. If you have questions about a possible course substitution, you are encouraged to reach out to your academic advisor.

Where can I view holds or my outstanding balance?

Students with an outstanding balance to the college will not be able to participate in the graduation ceremony, receive a diploma, or order an official transcript. Prior to applying for graduation, be sure you do not have an outstanding balance with the college. You can view your holds and outstanding balance through TTC Self-Service. Payment can also be completed through TTC Self-Service. If you have questions regarding your balance, please reach out to the Business Office at (843) 574-6124.

Will my guests need tickets to enter?

No. Tickets will not be required for the Spring 2024 Graduation Ceremony.

Will I need a parking pass?

No, parking passes are not required.

Will a family member in need of special seating (ADA) be able to attend?

If you or your guest(s) needs a reasonable accommodation to attend a commencement activity, please fill out this form. The Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) office will contact you once your request has been assigned and if additional information is needed. What is the bag policy for the North Charleston Coliseum?

The North Charleston Coliseum has a bag policy in effect that regulates the size and types of bags allowable. Do not bring unacceptable type bags or you will have to return them to your vehicle. For details about allowable sizes and clear bag policy, click here

Will the event be streamed?

Yes. The graduation ceremony will live stream on the college's Facebook page and on this webpage. 

Diplomas

To receive your diploma, you must complete a Graduation Application . If you are in multiple programs, you will need to complete an application for each program of study. Graduates receive a diploma cover during the graduation ceremony. The Registrar's Office issues actual diplomas approximately six weeks after the semester that the graduates complete their program of study. Graduates can anticipate receiving their diplomas in the mail approximately four to six weeks after final grades have been posted for the semester.

To make sure your diploma is mailed to the appropriate address, you must verify your accurate address on the graduation application. Click here to change/update the mailing address.

Order a Duplicate Diploma

To order a replacement diploma, complete a Duplicate Diploma Request Form and submit it to the Registrar's office. The cost of each replacement diploma is $10.

Graduation Honors

Recognition is granted to students who complete 30 or more credit hours with the appropriate cumulative grade point average.

Honors Designation         Cumulative GPA**
Summa Cum Laude 3.95 - 4.000
Magna Cum Laude 3.75 - 3.949
Cum Laude 3.60 - 3.749

Graduates participating in the graduation ceremony who have earned honors will receive an honors medallion to be worn during the commencement ceremony. Graduates in Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Mu Gamma with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA wear college-approved honor society regalia.
