PURPOSE: To provide guidance for awarding degrees, diplomas and certificates at Trident
Technical College.
Students meeting requirements for a Trident Technical College credential must complete
a Graduation Application form in the Registrar's office or online through the student
portal. The College Catalog identifies all degrees, diplomas and certificates awarded
by Trident Technical College.
- DEGREE
Students completing graduation requirements in an associate degree are conferred a diploma in the degree granting program in which the student completed the course work. The major will appear on the student’s official transcript. - DIPLOMA
Students completing the graduation requirements for a diploma program are conferred a diploma with the name of the diploma program indicated. The student's official transcript will reflect the diploma name. The date on all diplomas will reflect the semester of completion. - CERTIFICATE
Students completing the graduation requirements for a certificate program are conferred a diploma with the name of the certificate program indicated. The student's official transcript will reflect the certificate name and date of completion. - AWARDING OF MULTIPLE MAJORS WITHIN THE SAME DEGREE
Students who meet requirements for multiple majors within a single degree granting area, whether in the same academic year or in a different academic year, will receive one diploma. Students completing requirements in multiple degree granting areas are conferred a diploma for each degree granting area earned. - AWARDING OF MULTIPLE DIPLOMA OR CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS
Students who meet requirements in multiple diploma or certificate programs will receive a diploma or certificate for each diploma or certificate program completed.
