PURPOSE: To establish guidelines for a drug free work environment at Trident Technical College (TTC).
Guidelines
TTC will provide a drug free, healthy, safe and secure work environment. TTC requires and expects employees to report to work in appropriate mental and physical condition to meet the requirements and expectations of their positions.
TTC recognizes chemical dependency through use of controlled and uncontrolled substances, including alcohol, as a major health problem and a treatable illness. The College provides educational programs for its employees regarding both illegal and legal drug use including alcohol with emphasis on counseling, rehabilitation, and employee assistance programs. TTC imposes penalties upon employees for drug abuse violations occurring on College property or during any part of a College activity. TTC and its employees will also comply with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989, and the American Disabilities Act.
