BASED ON POLICY NUMBER AND TITLE: 16-1-0 ADMISSIONS POLICY

PURPOSE:  Trident Technical College admits applicants to the Health Sciences and Nursing programs on a "first-qualified, first admitted" basis.  Health Sciences and Nursing applicants must meet all College and program admission requirements to become eligible for admission into the next available academic term for the program of study selected.

  1. GENERAL COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS
    Health Sciences and Nursing applicants must meet the College's admission requirements for  acceptance into the appropriate associate degree, diploma, or certificate program before applying to a Health Sciences or Nursing program.

  2. PROGRAM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    After acceptance to the College, Health Sciences and Nursing applicants must apply and meet all program admission requirements to qualify for admission into the next available academic term for the program of study.  The College's Division of Education establishes admissions requirement for the Health Sciences and Nursing programs and communicates any admission requirement changes to the Admissions Office for implementation in the specified academic year.

  3. APPLICATION PROCESS
    The Admissions Office maintains the application process for the Health Sciences and Nursing programs, maintains applicant files, and initiates all admission correspondence including notification of acceptance for Health Sciences and Nursing programs.

  4. PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE LISTINGS
    The Admissions Office maintains acceptance and availability lists for all Health Sciences and Nursing programs, and provides final class listings by academic term to the Health Sciences and Nursing divisions when a program of study is filled.

  5. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
    The Health Sciences and Nursing divisions are responsible for notifying accepted students of any additional program requirements and orientation sessions.

  6. RE-ADMIT STUDENTS
    The Health Sciences and Nursing program coordinators  authorize the re-entry of re-admit students into a program, and are responsible for providing the names of  re-admit students to the Admissions Office for placement on the appropriate academic term acceptance list.
