Military Students
Trident Technical College is a Military Friendly school and welcomes both active duty members and veterans as well as their dependents.
Active Duty
You are active-duty personnel or the dependent of active-duty personnel stationed in South Carolina. If applying as a dependent, dependents must provide qualifying proof of dependency pending approval by Trident Tech.

- High School Graduation Documents (Diploma or Official High School Transcript) or General Educational Diploma (GED)
- Qualifying Test Scores
- Students may be required to submit proof of English and/or Math Proficiency based on information on these documents:
- TTC’s Placement Test, SAT (480 Critical Reading; 530 Revised SAT Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing), or ACT (English 19, Math 22).
- If you have taken English or Math courses at another U.S. College, you may be exempt from all or part of the placement test. To qualify, you will need to submit official transcripts.
- A final high school transcript with a weighted GPA from the last five years. Minimum Requirements needed for placement into courses (English 3.00 GPA & Math – 3.250 GPA

Active-duty members can be admitted to TTC but must receive approval from their Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within the Military Service prior to signing up for classes. Active-duty orders can be emailed to: admissionsdocs@tridenttech.edu. Be sure to indicate if you are a member of the military or a dependent. If a dependent,
please include your name in the email.
You will receive an acknowledgement email with your Student Portal login information at which point this step can be completed. Click here if you have trouble.
Your residency status will be determined after receiving your Proof of Legal Presence
and other qualifying documentation. It will be included in your acknowledgement email.

Your success coach or academic advisor can assist you with Orientation and registering
for classes. If you do not know the name of your success coach, please contact the
Student Success Center for more information.

Veterans
You have been discharged or retired from active duty and you or your dependent wish to utilize educational benefits afforded to you by the U.S. Military. If applying as a dependent, dependents must provide qualifying proof of dependency pending approval by Trident Tech.

A covered veteran or dependent must produce a copy of their COE (Certificate of Eligibility) to the Veterans Assistance Office if they wish to use Tuition benefits. Click here for more information.
Your success coach or academic advisor can assist you with Orientation and registering

Refer to your application acknowledgement email to verify the initial residency status
under which you have been determined. If you have trouble with locating this information,

If there is a balance left on your account after applying your tuition benefits, submit
payment. Your tuition is determined by your residency status. Be sure you have completed Step 6.
