Benefits

The TTC Foundation covers the cost for:

• course fees & required textbooks up to a maximum of $500 per fiscal year 

Guidelines and Restrictions

• Personal Interest and Youth Program courses are not included in the tuition assistance program.
• If a course is canceled due to participation before it begins, that course will not count towards the $500 maximum.
• Since the Foundation will notify Continuing Education to register the employee for their course, approval must be obtained well in advance of the course start date to avoid missing registration deadlines.

How to apply

STEP 1:

Complete the Tuition Assistance Request Form in etrieve.

• Form must be submitted and APPROVED by the Foundation PRIOR to the course start date (2-weeks prior is preferred, but exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis)
• Be sure to complete the form in it's entirety, including all costs, etc.
• When you submit the form, it will be routed to the following people for approval:
  • • your immediate supervisor, then
    • your divisional VP, then
    • the TTC Foundation for final approval.

STEP 2:

• The Foundation will notify Continuing Education to register you for the approved course and will copy you on the email so you can see the registration progress.
• The bookstore will also be notified in case there are textbooks required for the approved course. You may pick up your book(s) once you receive the email.

NOTE: The Foundation will be invoiced for your course fee and books, so you will not have to pay out of pocket.

Benefits

The TTC Foundation will reimburse the cost for:

• tuition, textbooks, and/or fees up to $200 per course
• a maximum of FIVE courses per fiscal year (can be taken any time up to the maximum of $1,000)

Guidelines and Restrictions

• The Foundation may not provide reimbursement assistance for courses taken at "for profit" institutions.
• Courses to be reimbursed must be taken at an accredited institution.
• Courses may be taken at any time during the fiscal year, including more than one class at a time, but the Foundaton will only reimburse up to the maximum of five class per fiscal year.
• Employees must earn a grade of "C" or better for undergraduate courses or at least a "B" for graduate courses to be reimbursed.
• An employee who leaves TTC employment prior to course completion will not be reimbursed.

• Register and take your class at the outside institution.

STEP 3:

Once your class is complete, please submit the Credit Course Assistance Reimbursement Request Form in etrieve.

• Be sure to complete the form in it's entirety, including all costs, etc.
• You must attach a copy of your transcript (unofficial is fine) showing the grade for the approved course. 
• You must attach a receipt or statement or other proof that the class was paid for in full (by you or through financial aid, etc.).

STEP 4:

Once your $200 reimbursement check (per course) is ready, you will be notified that you can pick it up from the TTC Foundation Office in the 900 building (more details will be included in the email).
