Trident Technical College and College of Charleston Introduce Business Transfer Pathway Program

North Charleston, S.C. – Trident Technical College (TTC) and the College of Charleston are excited to introduce a new transfer agreement.

These two institutions are partnering in a mutual effort to provide higher education opportunities to students through the EPIC Scholars program agreement. This initiative establishes a streamlined transfer pathway for TTC Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Accounting, Business Administration, and Management students to transfer to the College of Charleston to complete the Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S.) degree program, facilitating degree completion and stimulating the workforce.

This pathway allows students to work towards a bachelor’s degree with many program prerequisites and general education requirements fulfilled and a reduction in their overall tuition, cutting the time and cost typically required to complete a bachelor’s degree. The benefits of the EPIC Scholars program include guaranteed admission into the fully online B.P.S. program, bypassing program prerequisites, a 20% discount on tuition, a financial grant, and individualized advising and mentoring.

TTC President, Dr. Vicky Wood, and the College of Charleston President, Dr. Andrew T. Hsu, finalized the agreement at a signing event held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in the South Carolina Aeronautical Training Center on TTC’s Thornley Campus in North Charleston. Additionally, the signing event included Dr. Laurie Boeding, TTC vice president of academic affairs, and Dr. Suzanne Austin, College of Charleston provost and executive vice president of academic affairs.

“Today’s signing marks a clear and shared commitment to our students and to South Carolina’s future,” says Andrew T. Hsu, president of the College of Charleston. “The EPIC Scholars Program is about expanding access, removing barriers, and making sure that more of our state’s students can turn their aspirations into reality.”

President of Trident Technical College, Dr. Vicky Wood, contributes, “Trident Technical College is proud to partner with the College of Charleston to expand transfer opportunities for our students. This partnership enables Trident Technical College graduates to transfer into a bachelor’s degree program without losing credits. Streamlined transfer pathways strengthen individual opportunity, both colleges, and our community.”

This agreement took effect March 3, 2025. It will be jointly reviewed annually by representatives of each institution.
