The Office of General Counsel provides legal advice and representation to Trident Technical College in support of its mission, operations, and strategic priorities. The office manages legal matters involving the College, including contracts, compliance, employment issues, policies, litigation, and public records.

Jeffrey J. Wiseman serves as General Counsel for Trident Technical College. Before joining the College, Jeff was a partner at a local law firm where he maintained a broad civil litigation and advisory practice with a focus on tort, insurance, employment, education and governmental liability.
Jeff brings extensive experience advising public institutions, handling administrative proceedings, drafting and interpreting policies, and managing sensitive internal matters. His background working closely with government agencies and educational entities supports the College’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and lawful operations.
Jeff is responsible for all legal affairs of the College and serves as the primary point of contact for legal notices, FOIA requests, subpoenas, and matters involving administrative agencies or outside counsel.

Kris Skirving serves as Paralegal to the Office of General Counsel. Kris assists with document management, records requests, contract processing, research, scheduling, and coordination with departments across the College. She ensures that legal matters and information requests are handled efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
