July 29, 2026 — Trident Technical College (TTC) has been named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Top Online Colleges 2026, a recognition developed in partnership with global data firm Statista.
The rankings are based on an online survey of over 10,000 U.S. participants who have used online learning services to obtain an academic degree or acquire knowledge and skills for their jobs (professional development) or hobbies (personal development) through online courses. In addition to rating academic programs, participants also rated their experiences based on organization, support, price, reputation, success and practical relevance.
“As the needs of students and employers continue to evolve, online learning plays an important role in expanding access to higher education and workforce training,” said TTC President Dr. Vicky Wood. “Our online programs provide a flexible pathway for students to earn degrees and credentials that lead to transfer opportunities, career advancement and economic mobility, while maintaining the academic quality and student support services that define the Trident Technical College experience.”
The Newsweek list includes a wide range of providers, from traditional colleges and universities to community colleges and online learning platforms. Schools featured in this ranking include University of South Carolina, Harvard University, Michigan State University, Cornell University—eCornell, MIT OpenCourseWare, University of California, Davis; and Yale University.
Trident Technical College offers a variety of online, in-person and hybrid courses designed to help students balance education with work and personal responsibilities. The number of students choosing exclusively online courses continues to rise, with more than half of the college's students enrolled in online-only programs.
