Representatives from the South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs presented Trident Technical College (TTC) with the Bronze Service award from the Military Academic Recognition Program, which highlights South Carolina colleges and universities that support service members, veterans, Reserve, National Guard members and their family members in achieving their academic and professional goals.

“We are honored to accept this recognition of Trident Technical College’s service to veterans,” said TTC President Dr. Vicky Wood. “Trident Tech provides higher education opportunities for those serving and those who are looking for their next steps after active-duty military service. The college is focused on helping veterans, as well as military-connected students and dependents, enroll at TTC and find rewarding and well-paying careers that build on their skills, experience, and goals.”

As they take their next steps after active-duty military service, veterans at TTC can find dedicated support to guide them to pursue rewarding, well-paying careers.

TTC’s dedicated military and workforce recruiter answers incoming students’ questions before they even enroll, and connects them with on- and off-campus veterans services and resources to help them with enrollment and beyond.

The Veterans Assistance office focuses on guiding veterans, service members and dependents as they apply for and maintain educational benefits and answers questions regarding academic progress and more.

The Career Services department helps translate military occupational specialties into civilian job skills. Staff members understand the value of military experience and work closely with students to align their skills with in-demand career pathways. Trident Technical College partners with local, state, regional, federal and national employers, many of whom prioritize hiring veterans, to connect students with high-growth career opportunities. Employer engagement activities such as job fairs, hiring events, and on-campus recruitment specifically highlight veteran-friendly employers.

Students can join the Veterans' Voice student organization to connect with other veterans for networking and support.

Through these comprehensive efforts, Trident Technical College empowers veterans and military-connected students to leverage their experience, achieve their career goals and successfully transition into the civilian workforce.
