To celebrate National Dental Hygiene Month, Trident Technical College's Dental Services Clinic will waive clinic fees for preventive dental services during appointments scheduled between Oct. 1 and Oct. 30, giving community members an opportunity to receive essential oral health care at no cost.

Services available during the promotion include routine cleanings, deep cleanings, sealants and dental X-rays.

The Dental Services Clinic provides quality oral health care in a supervised educational setting where licensed dental hygienists and dentists oversee care provided by dental hygiene students. The clinic's mission is to improve access to oral health care while preparing future dental hygiene professionals.

"Many people delay preventive dental care because of cost or access barriers," said Melissa Copeland, Dental Services department head at Trident Technical College. "By offering free services during National Dental Hygiene Month, we hope to make it easier for members of our community to receive the care they need while promoting the importance of maintaining good oral health."

National Dental Hygiene Month is observed each October to raise awareness around the importance of oral health and preventive dental care. Through this initiative, the college hopes to encourage more community members to prioritize their oral health with access to the dental services they need.

Appointments are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Community members are encouraged to schedule as soon as possible by calling 843-574-6465.
