Dorie: Resilience, Achievement and Hope

Dorie WexlerWhen Dorie Wexler walked into the Culinary Institute of Charleston at Trident Technical College, she had a dream: to share the joy of healthy cooking and inspire others to live well through food.

Her journey was anything but easy. She faced multiple surgeries, the heartbreaking loss of her mother and financial strain that could have ended her education.

But Dorie never gave up. She worked hard, maintained a 4.0 GPA and leaned on the support of donors like you.

The generosity of donors made her unstoppable. TTC Foundation Scholarships helped Dorie stay in school, buy textbooks and even purchase the stainless-steel pots and pans she needed for her classes.

She shared her gratitude with donors as a panelist at the annual scholarship luncheon, stressing how much it meant that donors contributed money to help her on her journey. Watch the video.

And today, that journey has come full circle. Dorie graduated in Spring 2025—and now she’s giving back as an adjunct faculty member at Trident Technical College, training the next generation of culinary professionals.

This is more than one student’s success story. When alumni like Dorie thrive, our entire community benefits. They become leaders, mentors and innovators—strengthening local businesses, inspiring future students and creating opportunities that ripple far beyond the classroom.

Our graduates fill critical roles in local hospitals, restaurants and businesses, ensuring that our workforce remains strong and our community continues to grow.

Anthony: Rebuild, Reimagine and Rise

Anthony Brantley and Family

Life can change in an instant.

For Anthony, years of successful service in law enforcement ended abruptly when an injury forced him to resign. Suddenly, the career he had built was gone — and he needed a new path forward.

Determined to provide for his family, Anthony enrolled in Trident Technical College’s Industrial Maintenance program while working full-time.

But the cost of tools and certifications was a major hurdle. Thanks to a TTC Foundation scholarship, Anthony stayed on track and is now preparing for a stable, in-demand career.

Your gift makes stories like Anthony’s possible. When you support the TTC Foundation, you’re not just funding education — you’re giving students the chance to rebuild, reimagine and rise.  Donate Now

Jennifer: Creative, Determined and Supported

Jennifer Hudson

When Jennifer enrolled in the Graphic Design program at TTC, she was thrilled to receive free tuition through SC Wins. But once classes began, she discovered another challenge—specialized supplies and software required for her courses.

Thanks to donors like you, the TTC Foundation was able to provide Jennifer—and 544 other TTC students—with a scholarship to cover these unexpected expenses.
