Pharmacy Technician Program
The Pharmacy Technician Program trains students in technical tasks related to medication preparation and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The 9-month hybrid course combines online coursework, weekly on-campus lab sessions (either Mondays or Wednesdays), and an off-campus clinical rotation. Students are required to attend a mandatory orientation on 8/14/25 (failure to attend may result in dismissal from the program). The clinical rotation takes place from January to April, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This program prepares students for the national pharmacy technician certification exam (CPhT) and eligibility to apply for State Certification with the SC Board of Pharmacy. Registration Requirements: · High school diploma or GED equivalency · Proof of math and English proficiency (math proficiency via a passing score on a pharmacy-specific math placement test or Accuplacer) · Students must be eligible for SC Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician · Proof of vaccinations and titers: 2-step PPD, MMR, Tetanus, Hepatitis B (with titer), Varicella (or titer), Meningococcal, and Flu vaccine, emailed in PDF format to: <u>cheryl.watts@tridenttech.edu </u> Note: Applications for Scholarship enrollment will NOT be considered without the required documentation.
