Work-Study Program

Federal Work-Study Program (FWS) and Institutional Work-Study Program

The Work-Study Program provides part-time employment opportunities to offset education expenses. The federal program is based on financial eligibility determined from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) while the Institutional Work-Study Program is funded by Trident Technical College and is designed to assist the workforce while giving students work experience, job application experience and networking opportunities.

To participate in the Federal Work-Study program, you must:

  • Be Pell Grant-eligible and have remaining need.
  • Request work-study on the FAFSA.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress (not on an ineligible financial aid status).
Federal work-study jobs are on a first-come, first-served basis. If eligible for the Federal Work-Study Program, contact Student Employment Services for more information.

To participate in the Institutional Work-Study program, you must:

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA (unless this is your first semester).
  • Be enrolled in and maintain at least half-time status (6 credit hours).
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress (not on an ineligible financial aid status).

Note: Work-study positions are based on available funding so availability is limited. While we attempt to assist all students who desire to work in the program, demand may exceed the possible opportunities. Please do not assume that applying for a position constitutes a guarantee of placement.
