Important Dates

To ensure your financial aid award is posted to your account in time to help pay your tuition and fees and purchase books, your FAFSA information must be on file with Trident Technical College's Financial Aid office by the end of the Action Period. Remember, after you submit the FAFSA, it could take up to eight weeks for TTC to receive it.

bulbTIP: Complete your FAFSA every year as soon as possible after Jan. 1. By law, the earliest FAFSA applicants receive the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Work Study (FWS) and the South Carolina Needs-Based Grant (SCNBG).

Step 1 to be seat-ready

Complete the processes below during the Action Period to be ready to start classes. Visit the Calendars page for Action Period dates.

Your share of the process includes...

  • Submit application and pay fee.
  • Provide proof of legal presence in the U.S.
  • Provide official proof of high school graduation or GED.
  • Provide test scores or proof of college-level math and English.
  • If returning as a Re-Admit student, submit the Student Information Update form to Registrar's office.

Financial Aid/Veterans Assistance

  • Complete and submit the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. (TTC's school code is 004920).
  • Complete any loan requirements.
  • Complete financial aid verification (if applicable).
  • If VA, submit request for VA certification.

Disabilities Accommodations

  • Request accommodations through the Disabilities Services office.
  • Make appointment with a counselor.
  • Provide any documentation requested.
  • Allow more time for cases requiring ordered materials or contracted services.

These processes require time to complete.

Don't wait until the end of the Action Period to start step 1 to being seat-ready!

If you complete these steps during the Action Period you will have:

  • College admission process completed
  • Financial aid process completed before classes start
  • Protection from losing your course schedule due to non-payment
  • Credit for financial aid/VA use at the TTC Bookstore (if eligible)
  • Disabilities accommodations in place

After the Action Period ends you can still submit materials, BUT the items listed above may not be in place for the start of Term 1 and Full-Term classes.

bulbTIP: Meeting deadlines and submitting information in a timely manner will ensure your financial aid is in place when it is time to pay tuition and fees and purchase books.
