Charleston, SC - Feb. 27, 2025 – Trident Technical College (TTC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Beck as the new vice president for Finance and Business Affairs. Beck officially assumed his new role on Feb. 24.

Beck, a Mount Pleasant, SC resident, brings more than 23 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning, business operations and team leadership to Trident Tech. He has held several prominent leadership Kevin Beck positions throughout his career, demonstrating a strong commitment to enhancing organizational efficiency and effectiveness while promoting a culture of transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.

Previously, Beck served as a senior manager in risk and financial advisory at Deloitte and Touche, LLP, where he led service delivery optimization for a talent model comprising of nearly 400 accountants and financial managers. He also advised senior financial managers in federal and state governments on business policies, processes, and performance improvements to improve budget execution, accounting and financial reporting.

Prior to Deloitte, Beck served 20 years in the United States Coast Guard, where he held multiple high-visibility financial management and operational assignments. As Prevention Department Head for Sector Charleston, a chief of operations role, Beck oversaw federal field-level regulatory compliance programs for commercial vessel construction, marine terminal operations, and maintenance of safe and secure waterborne commerce in the Ports of South Carolina. While serving as executive assistant to the Coast Guard principal for the nation’s commercial vessel safety/security program and federal waterways management, Beck influenced national and interagency policy, regulations and resourcing, affecting $5.6 trillion in U.S. economic activity. As a senior financial manager at Coast Guard headquarters, he was responsible for improving organizational funds management and effective execution of a $5 billion annual budget.

Beck’s academic credentials include a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington, a master’s degree in Urban Planning, Design and Development from Cleveland State University, and a master’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences from Virginia Tech. He also is a certified public accountant in South Carolina, Washington and North Carolina.

Beck has received several prestigious awards throughout his career, highlighting his exceptional contributions and leadership. Notably, Beck’s unit was awarded the Coast Guard's 2018 Area Maritime Security Committee of the Year and the distinguished SC Maritime Association's 2019 Advocacy Award for innovative and collaborative solutions on competing state, local and industry priorities.
