What's New in 2018!
Trident Technical College is pleased to host our annual Kids’ College and Teen University summer camps. Camps are offered weekly from June 11-Aug. 3, 2018 for youth ages 7-17. Each year, we diversify our offerings and present innovative, exciting camps that stimulate your child’s imagination and inspire him or her to try new experiences. Check out some of our new initiatives this year!
For $35 per week, campers can arrive at 7:30 a.m. for Camp Sunrise, the new early drop-off program offered exclusively at TTC Main Campus. Students participate in a variety of engaging wake-up activities like brain teasers, games, light exercises, stretching and yoga to get ready for the day. Drop-off prior to 8:15 a.m. is for Camp Sunrise students only. If you need to drop your child off prior to 8:15 a.m., please register him/her for the program.
Join us for the inaugural year of Tech Flix Bootcamp to explore the creative side of the film industry. Work alongside Trident Tech’s real-life media team in our professional, state-of-the art labs and facilities. Take individual camps to learn skills that help you in your own projects. Take all six camps to experience the entire filmmaking process from start to finish. Plus, if you sign up for five camps, you can take the sixth camp at 50 percent off. Each camp contributes to a short film product completed at the end of June. Film-making camps are fast-paced and fun! No previous experience needed; our skilled teaching staff guides students of all ability levels. Camp offerings include: Movie Masks and Makeup; Set Design; Acting for Film; Sound for Film; Film Editing; and Film Production.
This one-week summer music experience (June 11-15, daily from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) at TTC’s Palmer Campus in downtown Charleston explores the intricacies of playing in small music ensembles. It is designed for music students (ages 12-17) studying woodwinds, brass and percussion instruments. To gain the most from the Music Academy week experience, campers must have completed at least one year of formal music education as part of a traditional band program and/or through private lessons.
Music Academy Week engages, educates and inspires young musicians through the power of music and music making. Campers engage in the shared experience of playing chamber music through a week of individual and small group coaching, masterclasses and workshops, and performances. Enroll for Music Academy Week online at www.tridenttech.edu/ce. Then email a video introduction with your registration to firstname.lastname@example.org. Your video should include: your name and age; number of years of music experience you have and how long you have been playing an instrument; why you would like to participate in Music Academy Week; and a one or two minute playing sample of your choice.
New this year, we are offering camps for adults. Drop off your students at their camps and then spend a carefree morning or afternoon creating and exploring.
Our variety of classes for youth isn't just for summer anymore! We are pleased to offer various classes sure to encourage educational imagination, creativity and talent all year-round. We also offer a variety of camps during spring break to keep your child engaged in learning.
