  • Beekeeping: Hands-on Hives Experience – Now that you’ve been introduced to the basics, get up close and personal with the bees. Instructor Jim Strohm leads this interactive hive experience. After suiting up, you visit an on-site colony and learn how to smoke the hive, locate the various features of an active hive, observe brood stages and how bees store their food.

Outdoor Pursuits: Outdoor Survival Basics

This course is perfect for hikers, backpackers and anyone heading for the great outdoors. Instructor Thomas Cousins teaches outdoor excursion planning and preparation; how to obtain water and food in the wild; bushcraft; firecraft; basic rules of survival and survival gear; outdoor cookery; finding direction; wilderness first aid; and hurricane and emergency preparations.
