Massage Therapy Certificate

Learn a range of massage techniques, including basic spa and neuromuscular clinical massage, to become a licensed massage therapist (LMT). The 500-hour curriculum covers the fundamentals of human anatomy and physiology, massage law and ethics, kinesiology, and practical application of spa and neuromuscular technique. You also practice acquired techniques in a hands-on clinical setting. Certification: Upon completion of this program, candidates are eligible to take the national certification examination, MBLEx (Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards) and apply for state licensure once receiving a passing score. Prerequisites for program admission: proof of high school diploma or GED and 18 years of age or older; Books not included

Massage Therapy: Caring for the Mother Prenatal Certificate

This six hour course introduces prenatal massage in all trimesters. Students learn how to properly position an expectant mother through the end of pregnancy and how to appropriately apply specific massage techniques. At the completion of this course the therapist knows how to accurately and safely administer massage without fear. Contraindications and modifications are covered for all trimesters and structural bodywork is demonstrated as well. This course is approved by SCLLR for six CEUs. Prerequisite: Must be a SC Licensed Massage Therapist

Massage Therapy: Making the Most of Your 50 Minute Session

Making the Most of Your 50-Minute Session is a continuing education class for massage therapists, offering six (6) hours of CEUs, all in a 1 day instructional period. Attendees will be exposed to identifying common requests from clients seeking 50-minute sessions and correlate those with client occupations and lifestyles, quick and secure draping techniques to save time, adding Range of Motion to specific muscle groups to enhance 50 minute sessions, and identifying contraindications of Range of Motion and how to appropriately apply it. Course is approved for CEU's through the state of South Carolina.
