Wish you were old enough to go to college? Maybe you are!

Explore TTC's Kids' College classes that are offered on weekends during the school year as well as weeklong weekday spring break camps and summer camps. Classes are grouped by age-levels and are available to youth aged 7-11. You might even figure out what you want to study when you get a little older by trying out some fun classes now and you're sure to make some new friends along the way.

Creative Arts

The Very Merry Players (Ages 8-13): This theater series is designed for students who wish to expand their knowledge of dramatic and performing arts. The club is not audition based, but performance material is individually selected to allow each student to grow as an actor. The mission of The Very Merry Players is to see each actor gain confidence, self-esteem, teamwork skills and to become lifelong lovers of the arts!

Culinary, Baking and Pastry

Birthday Cake Spectacular (Ages 8-17): What's a party without a cake? Celebrate someone special by baking a homemade treat. Get recipes, baking tips, and decorating ideas for wow-worthy cakes!
 
Caribbean Holiday: Taught in Spanish and English! (for Kids and Adults): Learn how to cook a full holiday meal of Caribbean rice and beans (moro), puerco asado (roasted pork), ensalada rusa (Russian salad) and a sweet dessert of cortadito de leche (milk fudge), avocado, and a cafecito (coffee). Registration includes one adult and one child or one single adult can register. Non-Spanish speaking participants can register, too! Our instructors speak both English and Spanish and recipes are given in both languages.
 
Cooking around the World: China (Ages 10-17): Skip the takeout and cook up some fresh Chinese cuisine. Check out the tips and Chinese recipes you need for a delicious meal. Learn about China while making some great, delicious food. Who needs takeout?
 
Cooking around the World: Italy (Ages 10-17): Italian recipes are all about simple foods made with high quality ingredients. Learn a little about the culture as we have fun with Italian food. Viva Italian!
 
Cooking around the World: Mexico (Ages 10-17): Learn all about traditional, home-style meals from Mexico. Let's get creative as we visit the country to our south and learn the step-by-step process for cooking an authentic Mexican meal.
 
Cooking around the World: The Philippines (Ages 10-17): Have you heard that Filipino cuisine is a big trend this year? It is often referred to as the "original fusion" for its unique mix of Malaysian, Chinese, Spanish, Indian and American influences. Come learn how to make popular Filipino dishes such as adobo, pancit, jelly roll and the very popular lumpia!
 
Donut Delights (Ages 8-17): Go nuts for donuts. Can you ever go wrong with sugary dough? We think not! Check out our roundup of yummy donut recipes for some sweet inspiration.
 
Gingerbread Houses (for Kids and Adults): Adults and kids alike enjoy creating spectacular gingerbread homes in the Culinary Institute of Charleston Bake Shop kitchens. For an additional $20, participants can also enjoy taking home a special Holiday Cookie Kit that includes six homemade Gingerbread cookies (four gingerbread figurines, a Christmas tree and a snowman), an icing piping bag and assorted candies to decorate at home. Registration includes one adult and one child or one single adult can register.
 
Perfecting the Bake Sale (Ages 11-17): In this hands-on class, learn how to make the perfect assortment of items from scratch for your next bake sale. We prepare white chocolate cranberry biscotti, salted caramel blond brownies, pumpkin spice muffins, raspberry pecan coffee cake and the chocolate walnut cookies. Chef Michelle Diminich also demonstrates how to best cut and package these items so that they look professional and home bakery fresh in order for your organization to earn top dollar.
 
Spooktacular Halloween Treats (Ages 7-17): In this hands-on class with pastry chef Michelle Diminich, students create Frankenstein shortbread, vampire bat and witchy cupcakes, ghoul marshmallow pops, and candy corn crispy rice treats. Students learn basic kitchen safety, sanitation and baking techniques. Learn how to use a piping bag to decorate shortbread cookies and cupcakes; roll out fondant for marshmallow pops; make tri-colored rice crispy treats and mold them into candy corn shapes.
 
Superhero Cupcakes (Ages 8-17): What kid doesn’t like cupcakes and superheroes? In this hands-on class, the two go together like Batman and Robin. Kids learn how to make vanilla cupcakes from scratch and decorate them using fondant and buttercream with a variety of superhero motifs.

Health and Fitness

Yoga Kids Workshop: All about Emotions! (Ages 7-11): Parents are welcome, too! This is not your mama's yoga! This workshop is “All About Emotions!” We talk about developmentally appropriate scenarios that pull our emotional triggers such as tests at school, playing with friends, sharing with siblings, bullies on the playground, and more. We identify the emotions and contemplate how we experience them in our bodies and our minds. Using these scenarios and discussions, learn yoga poses, breathing techniques and relaxation exercises that can help us manage big emotions and handle them in a healthy way.
 
Yoga Kids Workshop: What is Yoga? (Ages 7-11): Parents are welcome, too! Yoga concepts are introduced to kids in the way they learn best: through play! Through songs, games, and fun crafts, learn yoga poses, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises that help you calm your mind and body. This workshop answers the question: "What is Yoga?" Yoga is a non-competitive practice that encourages individualism and helps us develop healthy interpersonal relationships. Discover the history of yoga and how it is practiced all over the world. Explore the basics of anatomy and find out how yoga builds strength, balance and flexibility. Learn how to use different elements of yoga to manage emotions, reduce stress, develop a healthy lifestyle, and become a mindful member of your community.
