Trident Technical College’s Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development will host an instructor job fair 4:30-7 p.m., Thursday, May 18 on Main Campus, Bldg. 910, Rm. 123 (Continuing Education Center, 2001 Mabeline Rd., North Charleston, SC 29406).

TTC is seeking talented instructors who are committed to providing students with the best learning experience possible. Part-time and contractual instructors are needed for traditional classroom courses as well as hands-on lab and field instruction.

Minimum requirements and experience required varies by position. Positions open include: CNC Machining Instructor; CDL Training Instructors; HAZWOPER/OSHA Instructors; Freight Forwarding/International Trade Instructors; Logistics Instructors; Manufacturing Instructors; and Welding Instructor.

 

CNC Machining Instructor – This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of setup; two (2) years of operation of manual lathes and milling machines; plus three (3) years of CNC machine tool operation, set-up and programming. Knowledge of programming CNC turning and machining centers, including CNC G-codes and M-codes, Cartesian Coordinate system, selection of CNC tooling, calculating proper feeds, speeds, and depths of cut is critical, along with excellent customer service skills. Experience teaching entry level and advanced CNC machining with the ability to develop a curriculum is preferred. The capability of performing tool offsets, tool pre-setting, work shift reference and general maintenance specific to CNC machinery is a plus. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. CDL Training Instructors – These part-time contract positions require, a valid Class A South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License with all required endorsements and meet all requirements stated in the S.C. Code of Regulations Chapter 38, Department of Public Safety, 38-215. Applicants must also be at least 21 years of age. In addition, applicants must meet all of the State and Federal Regulations in 90-115 of the SCDMV Chapter 90 Article 2 DMV Sub Article, listed under Statutory Authority Truck Driver Training Schools, as well as TTC employment requirements. Ideal candidate will have 3 (three)  years of behind-the-wheel truck driving experience and provide verifiable proof of a minimum 100,000 miles of over-the-road driving experience. These positions will teach Trident Technical College CDL truck driver training school in the Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester county areas. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. These positions are open until filled. 

 

HAZWOPER/OSHA Instructors – The Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development is seeking credentialed part-time instructors to deliver HAZWOPER, and/or OSHA programs. Qualified applicants must have current HAZWOPER or OSHA credentials. Both OSHA General Industry and OSHA Construction trainers are needed. Maritime OSHA certification is a plus. Must have previous teaching and/or training experience and excellent customer service skills.  Applicants must be able to travel to customers throughout the TTC service area and be available to work varying hours and days to meet customer needs.  Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

 

Freight Forwarding/ International Trade Instructors – These part-time contract positions requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in freight forwarding/international trade, to include experience in reviewing letters of credit, contracts, and purchase orders. Candidates with previous classroom experience in adult education, DOT certification and experience in a maritime/port environment are preferred. A clear understanding of DOT regulations and skills in preparation of collection documents, certificates of origin and insurance certificates is essential. Successful candidates must have In-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign rules, regulations and laws for processing international shipments. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.

 

Logistics Instructors – To qualify for these positions, you must have a minimum of five (5) years of current logistics experience. Teaching/training experience and an associate degree in a related area is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are required. Instructors are needed to teach certified logistics associate, certified logistics technician and certified production technician based courses on the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) curriculum. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

 

Manufacturing Instructors – These positions require a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing/production experience. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of manufacturing unit operations to include production, maintenance, quality, safety, purchasing and logistics. Preferred candidates will have previous manufacturing experience both on the shop floor and in a training environment and a working knowledge of the manufacturing environment specific to the Tri-county area. Nationally recognized certifications related to manufacturing, such as NCCER or NIMS, are a plus. Experience in Lean Six Sigma tools and classroom and lab-based training; strong presentation skills; exposure to new product and business start-up procedures; and three (3) years of technical training experience in a manufacturing environment are also preferred. Course content will be provided. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. These positions are open until filled.

 

Welding Instructor –To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a minimum of five (5) years current welding experience and must pass certification tests in each welding process taught. Teaching/training experience and an associate degree in a related area is preferred. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux cored arc, and oxyacetylene/plasma arc/carbon arc cutting processes as well as related courses in blueprint reading, metallurgy, welding safety, and weld inspection, testing, and codes. Excellent customer service skills are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.
