Yoga Kids Workshop: All about Emotions! (Ages 7-11)

Parents are welcome, too! This is not your mama's yoga! This workshop is “All About Emotions!” We talk about developmentally appropriate scenarios that pull our emotional triggers such as tests at school, playing with friends, sharing with siblings, bullies on the playground, and more. We identify the emotions and contemplate how we experience them in our bodies and our minds. Using these scenarios and discussions, learn yoga poses, breathing techniques and relaxation exercises that can help us manage big emotions and handle them in a healthy way.

Parents are welcome, too! Yoga concepts are introduced to kids in the way they learn best: through play! Through songs, games, and fun crafts, learn yoga poses, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises that help you calm your mind and body. This workshop answers the question: "What is Yoga?" Yoga is a non-competitive practice that encourages individualism and helps us develop healthy interpersonal relationships. Discover the history of yoga and how it is practiced all over the world. Learn how to use different elements of yoga to manage emotions, reduce stress, develop a healthy lifestyle, and become a mindful member of your community.

Yoga Teens Series: Practice, Culture, Self- Reflection (Ages 12-17)

Did you know that yoga is more than just a physical practice? In this four-week series, we start the class with asanas-physical postures and learn about The Eight Limbs of Yoga, discussing two limbs each class. Along the way, students are encouraged to journal, draw, ask questions and discover themselves through meditation (quiet self-reflection and clearing the mind of chatter). This series offers a quiet reprieve from the school week before the stress of holiday season sets in.

Yoga Teens Workshop: Learn and Practice (Ages 12-17)

Have you ever wondered about the culture and history behind yoga? With its growing popularity in the Western world, many are unaware that yoga is more than just an exercise class. This class begins with a yoga practice. Once everyone's minds are cleared, we learn how modern yoga was shaped and spread to the world because of S.T. Krishnamacharya and his students. We end the class discussing and practicing meditation techniques. Along the way, students are encouraged to journal, draw, ask questions and discover themselves through meditation. Students take home a deeper understanding of yoga and tools to help manage stress and increase focus.
