Defensive Driving

Learn techniques used by professional drivers – techniques that could save your life.

Have you accumulated penalty points? Get up to four points credited when you complete the Defensive Driving course. You may also qualify for an insurance discount so be sure to check with your provider. Learn life-saving strategies including analyzing accidents and causes; avoiding the head-on crash; safe superhighway driving; the timed-interval following distance; effects of drinking and driving; and pedestrian accidents. A special Car CPR class is also available for those who want to learn how to properly maintain their vehicle.


 

Car CPR

Would you like to make sure your current ride lives a long life, saves you money, travels safely and stays ahead of repair bills? This class does all that plus gives you the knowledge you need to be independent on the road. How to change a tire safely, check your oil and fluids, and other basic topics are covered with hands-on participation. Even if you don’t know a steering wheel from a flywheel you’ll feel comfortable attending this course.

Defensive Driving

Drivers who have accumulated penalty points against their records can have up to four points removed upon successful completion of this National Safety Council course. Depending on your insurance carrier, a discount may be available. You must register in advance and be on time. As a reminder, any person who drives a motor vehicle when his or her license is canceled, suspended or revoked is in violation of S.C. Statute 56-1-460 and is subject to arrest; this includes driving to and from TTC campuses. Verify before enrolling (at www.scdmvonline.com) if you have a penalty points balance on your driving record for the credited points to be applied. Note: This is not a course for ADSAP substance violations. Book included.
