Certified Bookkeeper

Certified Bookkeepers are to bookkeeping what CPAs are to accounting: the elite of the profession. Becoming a Certified Bookkeeper can increase your earning potential, enhance your professional status, and give you a decisive edge in any job market. This online program was created by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) to prepare experienced bookkeepers for the certification exam at any Prometric Test Center. The AIPB certification is the only national standard for bookkeepers. Students have one year from the date of enrollment to submit the Application for Certified Bookkeeper Designation form to The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. Cost of the exam is included with this program. Upon registering, you are given six months to complete the program.

Event Management and Design

Learn to create spectacular special events with the Event Management and Design Online Training Program. This program is divided into two modules: Special Event Management and Special Event Design and Decoration. Each module includes multiple units complete with interactive presentations. Corporate events, weddings, parades, festivals, and more are covered. You learn about the practicalities of planning events and the dazzle of designing them. Human Resources

The SHRM Learning System includes multiple modules covering the entire SHRM Body of Competency and Knowledge (BoCK) so you’ll learn everything you need for the new CP and SCP exam. For new and seasoned HR professionals, we also offer courses in Human Resources Introduction, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Interviewing Skills in HR, The FMLA Process, Train the Trainer and Human Resources Law. All courses (except Human Resources Introduction and SHRM Learning System) are recertification-approved for human resources professionals holding SHRM CP and/or SCP credentials and qualify for the early bird discount.

A RiverDogs Experience

“A RiverDogs Experience” is a new series of business training and networking classes that Trident Technical College (TTC) is offering in partnership with the Charleston RiverDogs. You would register through TTC for the course(s) of interest to you. Each class is taught by TTC instructors and is conducted at the Joe Riley Ball Park inside The Riley Park Club room from 3-5:45 p.m. When the class ends, students are then able to stay afterwards inside The Riley Park Club and enjoy all-you-can-eat and drink while networking with peers and watching a Charleston RiverDogs baseball game. The course registration fee includes the classroom instruction, a ticket to that evening’s Charleston RiverDogs baseball game, continued access to The Riley Park Club room that evening and an all-you-can-eat and drink ticket during the game.

Starting a Food Truck Business

This one-week boot camp guides you through the critical steps for starting and operating a mobile food and beverage business. You learn about equipment, safety, maintenance, licensing and permitting, staffing, financial planning, marketing and scaling up. Instructor Kelvin Reese owns several successful Charleston-based food trucks and he offers practical guidance for launching your own mobile business.

What does it take to start your own small business? Entrepreneur and business coach Michael Gartside guides you through the start-up process, offering practical tips to help you move from idea to implementation. Each week, students explore a different topic related to starting a business, such as identifying your niche, understanding legalities, effective yet affordable promotion, tapping into local resources, delivering great customer service and basic financial management. Supervisory Skills

 

The Supervisory Certificate program is a professional development series for the up-and-coming leaders of area corporations and individuals who wish to improve their leadership skill sets and credentials with a certificate. The sessions are taught by an experienced executive and instructor using a highly interactive delivery designed to maximize retention of the materials. This program is a solid investment in building highly effective emerging leaders, managers and supervisors and includes the following courses: Leadership and Influence, Building a Strong Team, Communicating Effectively, Ethical Leadership and Emotional Intelligence. Teacher Recertification

These courses through TTC’s education partner, Ed2Go, are for teachers currently certified and seeking renewal hours for recertification. For those currently employed with a public school district, prior acknowledgement/approval by the principal or staff development officer to assure course relevancy is preferred. Option 3 teachers must enroll through TTC Continuing Education Registration and have a TTC transcript accompanying proof of completion for credit to be given by the State of S.C. Teacher Recertification office.

Wedding Planner

Wedding planners combine creativity and organization to help happy couples celebrate the most important day of their lives. In this program, you master the fundamentals of planning, orchestrating, and delivering stunning weddings and parties. This program allows you to earn your certification as a professional wedding planner and gives you an opportunity to put your new skills to work in an optional internship.
