Engineering Graphic Design

CATIA

These hands-on, on-campus courses introduce the fundamental concepts of CATIA for mechanical design. Learn to create, constrain and add intelligent dimensions to sketches. From sketches, features such as pads, fillets, chamfers and holes are created to form a 3-D part. Generative drafting also is covered, which allows you to generate 2-D drawing views from a 3-D part. Dimensions are added to the views as a means of documenting the drafting. Other topics include the management of parts through the creation of an assembly model and how to assemble, move, constrain and analyze the assembly model. Bill-of-material list generation also is covered. Then move on to more advanced design options in CATIA. Topics cover managing the catalog browser, inserting parts and subassemblies, using the assembly features and constraint creation toolbars and much more. No books required

 

Engineering Graphic Design Career Certificate

Obtain a certificate in computer-aided design by completing the following courses: AutoCAD Level 1; AutoCAD Level 2 – Production Environment; AutoCAD Level 3 – Advanced; Inventor; and SolidWorks. Enroll in the certificate track for only $3,459.

 

AutoCAD

Inventor

This course introduces parametric 3-D modeling using Inventor by Autodesk. Topics include getting acquainted with Inventor; part modeling techniques; working with sketches; creating features; using work features; and adding placed features to parts. Also covered are creating loft, sweep and split features; creating part drawings and assembly models; working with adaptive drawings; and managing model data. Graphic Artist Career Certificate

Microsoft and QuickBooks Career Certificates

TTC offers certificates which allow you to demonstrate your proficiency in using Microsoft Office software and QuickBooks: Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate ($1,369); Microsoft Excel Specialist Certificate ($459); and QuickBooks Bookkeeping Certificate ($289).

 

Access

Create a database from scratch and format tables. Then query the database and design a form to view it in a more visually pleasing way. Move on to work with advanced tables and relationships, as well as intermediate-level queries, forms and reports. Integrate Access data with other applications such as Microsoft Word or Excel. Excel

Learn simple formulas, ranges, page setup and printing options. Work with tables; sort and filter options; and link worksheets and workbooks. Technician

A+ Certification

A+ Essentials helps prepare students for the CompTIA A+ 220-901 exam. Topics covered include diagnosing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing microcomputer hardware. A+ Practical Application helps prepare students for the CompTIA A+ 220-902 exam. This hands-on course covers skills essential to competency in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. Also covered are hardware security, networking operating systems, modes and flow-through. Prerequisite: Understanding of Windows and working knowledge of computers; Books not included

 

CCNA (ICND 1 and 2)

In ICND1, learn networking fundamentals, LAN/WAN switching technologies, IPv4 and IPv6 routing technologies, infrastructure services, NAT basics, and how to enhance network security and do infrastructure maintenance. In ICND2, learn how to manage VLANs on Cisco switches, STP and Ether Channels; describe the mechanisms used to mitigate network threats; configure infrastructure services, QoS concepts and techniques to manage congestion; perform infrastructure maintenance; manage devices using AAA with the TACACS+ and RADIUS protocols; describe the basics of network programmability, features of WAN technologies, and manage routing protocols. Fiber Optics Certifications

TTC offers three levels of certification preparation classroom courses: Certified Fiber Optics Technician Course (CFOT); Certified Fiber Optics Specialist: Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T); and Certified Fiber Optics Splicing Specialist (CFOS/S). Books and supplies included.

  • The CFOT introductory course is designed for anyone interested in learning basic fiber optic networking and becoming a certified fiber optics technician. Learn how to identify fiber types, recognize various connectors used in fiber installation; and install, terminate, splice, and properly test installed fiber cable to existing standards. This course is a prerequisite for all other fiber optics advanced courses.
  • The CFOS/T course explains the variety of testing standards, equipment and technological approaches used in fiber network testing and splicing and how to choose among them. Prerequisite: Certified Fiber Optics Technician Course (CFOT)
  • The CFOS/S course explains the importance of high performance splicing and further details the points necessary to achieve these splices. Prerequisite: Certified Fiber Optics Specialist: Testing and Maintenance (CFOS/T)

 

Network+ Certification

Prepare for the Network+ Certification N10005 CompTIA exam. This course covers network fundamentals, building a network with OSI, hardware concepts, Ethernet basics, modern Ethernet, non-Ethernet networks, network interface cards, structured cabling, protocols, TCP/IP and network operating systems. HTML5 and CSS3

Produce an entire website by learning how Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are written. Get a good foundation on the use of HTML tags and CSS and their relationship to the visual layout of webpages in the browser window. Write solid HTML that works in all browsers. Students use the appropriate tools to make hand-coding an enjoyable task while learning the tips and concepts of good webpage design and construction. Build upon a basic understanding of HTML and create a multi-level website. Create efficient HTML templates that can be reused and modified as a means of reducing costs. Then dive deeper into CSS to learn how powerful styles can be. Book included

 

JavaScript

JavaScript is an ideal programming language to use for your first steps in programming. JavaScript allows programmers the capability of enhancing HTML and CSS webpages by adding interactivity and other various concepts. Learn how to create functions, objects, variables and scripts that allow for basic interactivity. A good grasp of HTML and CSS is required. Continue on to learn the document object model, creating and responding to custom events as well as exploring JavaScript and cookies. Then move on to explore Ajax, the creation of JavaScript libraries and integrating JavaScript with other technologies. Photoshop for the Web

Photoshop is capable of more than simply optimizing an image for the web. This course provides tricks and tips for making a visually cohesive web design as well as planning a web layout and creating elements needed for the implementation of your vision. Web Design – Lab

Come to TTC's Main Campus Bldg. 910 to build your own website. Web design instructor Tyler Craft will be on hand to answer questions during each session. Note: This lab is only open to students in the Web Design Certificate program.
