This certificate prepares students for employment with companies looking for database professionals. Starting with a basic computer class, students progress course by course to a skill level where they can work in any database environment. The curriculum uses both MS Access and SQL Server to teach students how to design, build, manipulate and maintain business database management systems.

Lec: 3 Lab: 0 Credit:3 This course introduces computer concepts and programming. Topics include basic concepts of computer architecture, files, memory and input/output devices. Programming is done in a modern high-level language. The course includes understanding how computer programs work and the role of the programmer in a business environment. Lec: 3 Lab: 0 Credit:3 This course introduces database models and the fundamentals of database design. Topics include database structure, database processing and application programs that access a database.
