What can I do in cosmetology?

You can pursue a variety of careers, including cosmetologist, cosmetology instructor, hairstylist, makeup artist, beauty/fashion consultant, salon owner/manager, hair color technician, sales representative, and esthetician.

What characteristics and skills do I need to work in this field?

To be successful in the cosmetology field, you must have great people skills and be detail-oriented. It is important to have a desire to continue learning new information and skills, because cosmetology is constantly changing, and it is important to stay current on new technology and techniques. Business knowledge, communication skills and professionalism are also key to succeeding in this field.

Where can I work?

You can find employment opportunities in spas or wellness centers, salons, resorts, cruise ships and dermatologist offices. You can also work as an educator for product manufacturers, become a licensed instructor or open your own business. With changing tastes and fashion trends, there is an abundance of job opportunities in cosmetology.

Hair, Esthetics and Nail Clinics

Students provide hair, esthetics and nail services, under supervision of instructors, at our clinics. Standards salon and spa treatments are offered at a fraction of the cost.
