If so, the Humanities and Social Sciences division can offer you the foundation courses you’ll need so that you can make your career choices later. The Humanities and Social Sciences division offers the Associate in Arts (AA) degree and the Professional Writing Certificate.
The Associate in Arts degree, while emphasizing communication, social sciences, and humanities, can potentially provide you with the first two years of baccalaureate coursework. Thus, the division can provide a foundation for many careers. With a focus on Humanities and Social Sciences, you are able to continue your studies and pursue careers in any of the following disciplines and more!

Child and Youth Studies
The Child and Youth Studies department is dedicated to preparing students for employment in settings that include, but are not limited to, any part-or full-day program in a child care center, school classroom or home care that serves young and school-age children and their families, including children with special developmental and learning needs.
Human Services
The Human Services department at Trident Technical College provides graduates with the skills, knowledge and ethics of the human service discipline to facilitate assistance to individuals, families and communities in need, primarily by helping them acquire the skills to solve their own problems.
Professional Writing Certificate
The Professional Writing Certificate teaches fundamental writing skills for use in a variety of disciplines, including creative writing, journalism, technical writing and writing for media. Orientation leaders will also assign students to faculty advisors for this program.
