Glazed Gourmet Doughnuts

When did you first become interested in your field of work?
From the time I can remember I wanted to be a chef. It just seemed natural for me to attend culinary school after graduating high school.

What made you decide to go to CIC?
When I first toured CIC I was very impressed with the facility. Once I learned more about the faculty and classes offered, I knew CIC was the right choice for me.

What was the most important thing that you learned at CIC?
All of the basics! Still today I get compliments on my knife skills, and I'll always know how to make a perfect hollandaise.

What was your first paid position in your field?
My first paid position was working at Cupcake while attending CIC.

What has been the highlight in your career so far?
The highlight of my career was the first time Glazed was nationally recognized. Within a few months of opening in 2011, Glazed was listed as one of the best doughnuts shops in America by NY Magazine.

What would be your advice for CIC students?
I would advise students to take advantage of any opportunity that is available and make as many connections as possible. There were always so many ways to get involved with the culinary scene though CIC.
