CDL Training Instructors – These part-time contract positions require, a valid Class A South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License with all required endorsements and meet all requirements stated in the S.C. Code of Regulations Chapter 38, Department of Public Safety, 38-215. Applicants must also be at least 21 years of age. In addition, applicants must meet all of the State and Federal Regulations in 90-115 of the SCDMV Chapter 90 Article 2 DMV Sub Article, listed under Statutory Authority Truck Driver Training Schools, as well as TTC employment requirements. Ideal candidate will have 3 (three) years of behind-the-wheel truck driving experience and provide verifiable proof of a minimum 100,000 miles of over-the-road driving experience. These positions will teach Trident Technical College CDL truck driver training school in the Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester county areas. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. CNC Machining Instructor – This position requires a minimum of two (2) years of setup; two (2) years of operation of manual lathes and milling machines; plus three (3) years of CNC machine tool operation, set-up and programming. Knowledge of programming CNC turning and machining centers, including CNC G-codes and M-codes, Cartesian Coordinate system, selection of CNC tooling, calculating proper feeds, speeds, and depths of cut is critical, along with excellent customer service skills. Experience teaching entry level and advanced CNC machining with the ability to develop a curriculum is preferred. The capability of performing tool offsets, tool pre-setting, work shift reference and general maintenance specific to CNC machinery is a plus. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Freight Forwarding/ International Trade Instructors – These part-time contract positions requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience in freight forwarding/international trade, to include experience in reviewing letters of credit, contracts, and purchase orders. Candidates with previous classroom experience in adult education, DOT certification and experience in a maritime/port environment are preferred.  A clear understanding of DOT regulations and skills in preparation of collection documents, certificates of origin and insurance certificates is essential. Successful candidates must have In-depth knowledge of domestic and foreign rules, regulations and laws for processing international shipments. HAZWOPER/OSHA Instructors  –  The Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development is seeking credentialed part-time instructors to deliver HAZWOPER, and/or OSHA programs. Qualified applicants must have current HAZWOPER or OSHA credentials. Both OSHA General Industry and OSHA Construction trainers are needed. Maritime OSHA certification is a plus.  Must have previous teaching and/or training experience and excellent customer service skills.  Applicants must be able to travel to customers throughout the TTC service area and be available to work varying hours and days to meet customer needs.  Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

IT Instructors – Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in the following areas: Networking, Security+ and Cisco (CCNA & CCNAX). Additional IT experience is a plus. Teaching experience in a related area is preferred. Must be able to teach both day and night classes. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.

Java Instructor – Programming instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in Java. Experience with other programming languages is a plus. Teaching experience in a related area is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Must be able to teach both day and night classes. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.

Logistics Instructors – To qualify for these positions, you must have a minimum of five (5) years of current logistics experience. Teaching/training experience and an associate degree in a related area is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Instructors are needed to teach certified logistics associate, certified logistics technician and certified production technician based courses on the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) curriculum.  Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Manufacturing Instructors – Seeking instructors for manufacturing training. These positons require a five (5) years manufacturing/production experience. Ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing unit operations to include: production, maintenance, quality, safety, purchasing, and logistics. Experience in Lean Six Sigma tools and strong presentation skills. Exposure to new product and business start-up procedures; three (3) years technical training experience in a manufacturing environment. Nationally recognized certifications such as NCCER, NIMS, etc. Classroom and lab based training. Course content will be developed to meet specific needs of the manufacturing environment within the Tri-county region. Preferred candidates will have previous manufacturing experience both on the shop floor and in a training environment. Nationally recognized certification related to manufacturing are a plus. .  Salary is commensurate with education and experience. These positions are open until filled.

MS Office Instructor - Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in all MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access) version 2013 and Office 365.  Must have excellent skills in all MS Office products, including MS Access. Must be able to teach both day and night classes. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.

Web Design Instructor - This position requires a minimum of three (3) years current Web Design experience, working with HTML5 & CSS3, JavaScript and WordPress.  Teaching experience in a related area is preferred. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes. Must be able to teach both day and night classes.  Excellent customer service skills are essential. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.

Welding Instructor –To qualify for these positions, you must have at least five (5) years of current welding experience and must pass certification tests in each welding process to be taught. Teaching/training experience and an associate degree in a related area are preferred. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux cored arc, and oxyacetylene/plasma arc/carbon arc cutting processes as well as related courses in blueprint reading; metallurgy; welding safety; and weld inspection, testing, and codes. Excellent customer service skills are essential. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. These positions are open until filled.

Summer Camp Assistants – These positions require a high school diploma. Candidates must have the ability to work with children ages 7 – 17 years old. Applicants with previous work experience with children are preferred. Summer Camp Assistants will check-in and check-out campers; provide assistance with hands-on activities; assist with set-up and clean-up; and serve as liaison between parents, instructors and the Youth Program Manager. These positions are located at Main Campus (North Charleston), Mt. Pleasant Campus, and Palmer Campus (Downtown). The Summer Camp Assistants commitment is from June 12 – August 4 with a pay rate of $10 per hour. These positions will typically work 20 – 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with varying shifts. These positions are open until filled.
