Aircraft Manufacturing Technology Instructor #1219  This position requires a bachelor’s degree in aircraft manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, or related area plus related work experience OR an associate degree in a subject related to aeronautical studies plus four (4) years of related work experience. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in aircraft manufacturing processes with emphasis given to:  sheet metal and composite structures, aircraft materials and hand tools, fluid line assembly, corrosion identification and control, and basic electrical systems is preferred. Applicants with at least two (2) years of teaching experience in post-secondary education also preferred. Applicants who have the experience listed above but have not yet completed an associate degree will be considered but must be willing to obtain the degree. Aircraft Maintenance Technology Instructor - (FAA Part 147 School) –  To qualify you must have a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in related area and airframe and powerplant licenses. Position requires some knowledge and experience of all aircraft maintenance subjects (general, airframe, powerplant), with experience in both flight line and shop level maintenance preferred. Aircraft Maintenance Technology Avionics Instructor – These positions require at least a bachelor’s degree in aircraft maintenance or a related area OR an associate degree PLUS two (2) years of related work experience. Degree or certificate from a formal electronics school, civilian or military, and FCC GROL license is also required. Preference is given to applicants with an FAA airframe and powerplant certificate, and those with at least two (2) years of teaching experience in post-secondary education. Applicants who have not yet completed an associate degree will be considered, but must be willing to obtain the degree. Developmental Reading Instructors/FIPSE Grant - To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in education or a literacy-related field plus high school certification in ELA or reading. A master’s degree in a literacy-related field or reading is a plus. Experience with socially, economically, and/or educationally challenged youth population is preferred. Experience with teaching and/or writing a literacy curriculum is also preferred. Strong computer skills are critical for the instructors as computer based and teacher director learning activities will be used in the delivery of curriculum to students.  Classes will be taught at five (5) high schools located in Charleston and Berkeley counties. Film Production Instructor – To qualify for this position, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in film production or a closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years experience in professional film production. Candidate should be well versed in the operation of Arriflex 16 and 35mm cameras, professional lighting and grip gear, location and post-production audio and have a high level of working knowledge in Final Cut Pro- Color and Motion, Photoshop and After Effects software. Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Instructors –To qualify for these positions you must have at least an associate degree in electromechanical technology, mechanical engineering technology, or industrial technology or a related field PLUS five (5) years of industry related field experience. Instructors are needed for the following courses: piping systems and pumps, drive systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and mechanical sketching and blueprint reading. Machine Tool Instructor – This position requires a high school diploma AND five (5) years current industry experience that includes both conventional and CNC equipment set-up and operations.  A bachelor’s degree in machine tool or industrial technology or a closely related field OR an associate degree in machine tool technology, industrial technology or a closely related field is preferred. Working knowledge and experience in the concepts and theories of conventional and CNC machining, set-up and operations, CAD/CAM programming, materials and processes, blueprint reading, and tool design is required. Proficiency in Adobe Master Collection, Powerpoint and/or Keynote software is required. Work experience in designing for digital media and the ability to work on both PC and Macintosh platforms are critical. Network Systems Management Instructors To qualify for these positions you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer networking, information technology, business, or a related field AND experience in the networking/information technology field.  A master’s degree is preferred.  Preference will be given to applications with CompTIA, Cisco, and/or Microsoft certification.  Must be familiar with computer hardware and desktop operating systems, Cisco routing and switching, and network operating systems.  Day and evening courses are available.  Please submit a copy of your transcripts (unofficial copies acceptable) with your application. Nursing Instructors (ADN) – Part-time instructors needed to provide clinical instruction/supervision for 8 - 9 students on an adult medical surgical acute care unit.  Clinical rotations are available for 7 or 14 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Mondays and Wednesdays.  A BSN PLUS enrollment in and 50% completion of a masters degree nursing program or an MSN is required.  Candidates must also have a minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in medical surgical nursing as an RN and a current SC RN license.  Clinical teaching experience in an ADN or BSN program preferred.  Excellent customer service skills are a plus.  Salary is commensurate with education and experience.  These positions are open until filled.

Occupational Therapy Assistant Fieldwork Coordinator To qualify for this position, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree and be licensed and credentialed as a certified occupational therapy assistant or an occupational therapist. Excellent communication, organization, customer service, and interpersonal skills are essential. Basic computer skills recommended. Candidate must possess energy and enthusiasm for nurturing OTA students as they embark on a new career in health care. This contract position will work 40 hours per week. Photography Instructors – To qualify for this position you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a visual arts discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in photography or a related field. Candidates must demonstrate experience using studio and location still camera and lighting equipment, and possess a thorough knowledge of traditional film and digital image capture and printing processes. Knowledge of and experience with the use of the latest version of the Adobe Lightroom program is required. Psychology Instructors – These positions require a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline of psychology.  The graduate courses must have the PSY department abbreviation.  Teaching experience is preferred. Visual Arts Instructor To qualify for this position, you must have at least a master’s degree in multimedia, media arts, graphic design or a related field. Work experience in the areas of graphic design, web design and/or multimedia and the ability to work with Adobe Master Suite on both PC and Macintosh platforms is critical. College level teaching experience in the field of visual arts is preferred. This position will teach in the areas of 2D Design, Color Theory, Graphic Design, Web Design and Multimedia. Welding Instructor –To qualify for this position, you must have at least a minimum of five (5) years current welding experience and must pass certification tests in each welding process taught. Teaching/training experience and an associate degree in a related area is preferred. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux cored arc, and oxyacetylene/plasma arc/carbon arc cutting processes as well as related courses in blueprint reading, metallurgy, welding safety, and weld inspection, testing, and codes. Healthcare Externship Coordinator (Training and Development Director I) (Continuing Education Division)  (Readvertising Previous Applicants Need Not Apply) #11201 – This position requires a bachelor's degree and three (3) years related training development program experience. A master’s degree in nursing, allied health or a health management field and experience coordinating clinical site externships preferred. Avionics Maintenance Technology Lab Technician – This position requires a degree or certificate from a formal electronics school, civilian or military, PLUS two (2) years of related work experience and a FCC GROL license. Preference is given to applicants with NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician and FAA airframe and powerplant certification. Position requires knowledge and experience in aircraft electrical/electronic systems, wiring installation and component level troubleshooting and repair. Student Literacy Coaches/ FIPSE Grant (Revised) (Previous Applicants Need Not Apply) – These positions are open to college students CURRENTLY ENROLLED AS A JUNIOR, SENIOR OR GRADUATE STUDENT at Charleston Southern, The Citadel or College of Charleston majoring in education or a human services related field with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5.  Ideal candidates will have experience with socially, economically, and/or educationally challenged youth populations and have a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. The FIPSE Grant will partner with Charleston Southern, The Citadel, College of Charleston and four (4) high schools in Charleston and Berkeley County.  Student Literacy Coaches will be required to attend a Train-the-Trainer Workshop to prepare for the delivery of reading, writing and literacy curriculum. Aerospace Manufacturing Skills Assessors (Continuing Education) –These part-time contract positions require four (4) years of related work experience in aircraft manufacturing, assembly, or maintenance with an emphasis in composite structures, drilling, riveting, composite repair, shot and rotopeen, coatings, bond and ground, seal processes, and systems testing.  Previous experience with Boeing is preferred. Passing background checks and maintaining badging clearances and assessor qualifications is also required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision during varying shifts in a manufacturing environment, and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Working knowledge and experience in the concepts and theories of conventional and CNC machining, set-up and operations, CAD/CAM programming, materials and processes, blueprint reading, and tool design is required. Welding Instructors –To qualify for these positions, you must have a minimum of five (5) years current welding experience and must pass certification tests in each welding process taught. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux cored arc, and oxyacetylene/plasma arc/carbon arc cutting processes as well as related courses in blueprint reading, metallurgy, welding safety, and weld inspection, testing, and codes.
