Automotive Instructor # 09044 This position requires a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in Automotive Technology or a related field, and current ASE Master Automobile Technician certification which must be submitted with the application. A minimum of four (4) years of work experience is required. A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in automotive technology is preferred. Also, prefer candidates with automatic transmission experience. Documented industry/teaching experience must include evidence of activity within the last five (5) years. Candidate must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of software applications, and demonstrate careful attention to work quality, details and deadlines. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Duties include: lesson plan preparation; classroom presentation; curriculum development/management; recruiting; advising; supervising shop activities, and safety. Director of Apprenticeship Programs #09045 – This position requires a bachelor’s degree and a background in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or a related field PLUS three (3) years related academic/industry experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must as well as the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations in the community and within the College.  The successful candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.  Preference is given to candidates with experience in higher education, including teaching, working with companies/industries, and apprenticeship program development.  The successful candidate will provide leadership and managerial skills for new and existing apprenticeship programs including marketing academic and continuing education courses to area industries.  Regular duties will include apprentice advisement and registration, scheduling, marketing, fiscal oversight, instructional development, student performance assessment, and teaching. Nursing Instructor #09046 To qualify for this position, you must have at least a master’s degree in nursing, OR a BSN PLUS current enrollment in, and 50% completion of, an MSN program. Candidates must also have a current SC RN license and a minimum of two (2) years clinical experience related to the primary area of assigned teaching responsibilities. TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME FACULTY

Animation Instructors To qualify for these positions candidates must have at least an associate’s degree in a visual arts discipline. A bachelor’s degree in a related area is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are required.  Ability to work on both PC and Macintosh platforms is critical. Recent relevant industry experience or previous college level teaching experience is also preferred. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in Maya, 3ds Max and Flash as well as related courses in Director and Authorware software. Anthropology Instructors – These positions require a master’s degree in anthropology or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in anthropology. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Economics InstructorsTo qualify for these positions, you must have at least a master’s degree in economics or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in economics. English as a Second Language Instructors – To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in either: 1) English; 2) Education with certification in language arts in the elementary, middle, or secondary level, or certification in English as a Second Language (ESL); 3) Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), or Linguistics; or 4) a foreign language.  In addition to a bachelor’s degree, the instructor must possess one or more of the following: 1) a master’s degree in ESL, TEFL, TESL, or Applied Linguistics, 2) a master’s degree in a foreign language combined with teaching experience, 3) a master’s degree in Education, including methodology courses, 4) experience teaching English as a Second Language. Graphic Design Instructor To qualify for these positions you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related discipline. An MFA with 18 graduate hours in graphic design or a related field is preferred. Must possess strong graphic design, imaging, and computer design skills. Proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign and/or PhotoShop software is required. Work experience in designing for print media and the ability to work on both PC and Macintosh platforms are critical. Recent relevant industry experience and previous college level online and traditional teaching experience is also preferred. Day and evening courses are available. Information Systems InstructorsTo qualify for these positions, you must have at least a master’s degree in computer science/information technology or a closely related field OR a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in computer science/information technology.  Please submit a copy of your graduate transcripts with your application. Mathematics Instructors To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a master’s degree in mathematics OR a master’s degree with 18 semester credit hours in mathematics at the graduate level.  Candidates must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Candidates must be willing to teach all levels of mathematics ranging from beginning algebra through calculus 3 and differential equations, including probability and statistics, discrete mathematics, and contemporary mathematics. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Teaching experience on the college level is preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching varying schedules at a variety of locations, utilizing technology in instruction, and using a variety of teaching methods. Multimedia and Web Site Design Instructor – To qualify for these positions you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related discipline. An MFA with 18 graduate hours in graphic design or a related field is preferred. Must possess strong graphic design, imaging, and computer design skills. Proficiency in Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Powerpoint and/or Authorware software is required. Work experience in designing for digital media and the ability to work on both PC and Macintosh platforms are critical. Recent relevant industry experience and previous college level online and traditional teaching experience is also preferred. Day and evening courses are available. Paralegal InstructorsTo qualify for these positions, you must have at least a juris doctor degree and a license to practice law in South Carolina. Excellent customer service skills are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. These positions are open until filled.

Photography Instructors To qualify for this position you must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a visual arts discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in photography or a related field. The master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate experience using studio and location still camera and lighting equipment, and possess a thorough knowledge of traditional film and digital image capture and printing processes. Knowledge of and experience with the use of the latest version of the Adobe Creative Suite programs is preferred. Recent relevant industry experience and previous college level online and traditional teaching experience is also preferred. Day and evening courses are available. Physics/Astronomy Instructors These positions require a master’s degree in Physics or a master’s degree with 18 semester hours of graduate-level Physics.  Required knowledge base includes content related to assigned teaching responsibilities in Physics and Astronomy lectures and laboratories. Three years full-time equivalent experience teaching Astronomy, and both algebra-based and calculus-based Physics, at the two-year college level preferred. Must be capable of lifting/assembling heavy telescopes and performing night sky observations. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Plumbing Instructors – These positions require a high school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years plumbing experience in facilities maintenance/construction with the skills necessary to provide instruction for installation, maintenance, testing and repairing plumbing fixtures and pipe lines OR an associate degree and two (2) years experience same as above. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications. Excellent customer service skills are required. Teaching/training experience in a related area and a SC plumbing contractor’s license preferred.  This course is a combination of classroom and hands on practice including faucet repair, exposed waste piping, disposal and faucet installation and repair, drain lines, toilets, sinks, soldering skills and water supply hook up. Sociology InstructorsTo qualify for these positions, you must have at least a master’s degree in sociology or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours of sociology. FULL-TIME STAFF

Administrative Specialist II #09047 – This position requires an associate degree or a high school diploma and (2) two years related work experience.  Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, manage, file, and retrieve a wide variety of information. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.  Routine administrative duties for the department include: general typing, ordering office supplies, entering requisitions in the college’s computerized purchasing system, assisting with annual budget development, preparing monthly status statements of budget accounts, tracking and posting receipt of materials and services,   reconciling purchase orders and requisitions, and assists with administration of design and construction contracts.  Must also be able to organize and maintain a complex computerized file system. As departmental liaison for the purchasing card program, this position coordinates and reconciles departmental purchasing card transactions. Candidate will assist departmental staff with administration of miscellaneous contract services including: custodial, HVAC, pest control, solid and hazardous waste management, and motor pool maintenance.  Candidate must have a valid SC driver’s license. Law Enforcement Officer II #09015 and #09033 – These positions require an associate degree and two (2) years work experience in law enforcement, to include one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; OR a high school diploma and four (4) years work experience in law enforcement to include one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.  A valid SC Driver’s License is required. Working knowledge of state, county and municipal laws and ability to work in a college environment is essential. Working knowledge of modern police methods and procedures, and excellent customer service skills/community oriented policing are required. This position must be able to deal firmly, but courteously with the public, be temperamentally well-controlled, present a good appearance, and be able to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations, following the College’s Emergency Plan and Incident Command procedures.  Strong leadership ability and computer literacy, with experience and proficiency in automated records management systems, is essential. Graduation from the SC Criminal Justice Academy, current certification as a police officer in SC, Group I State Constable certification, and experience working in a college environment is highly preferred.  If not already certified as a police officer in SC, candidate must be able to obtain certification and a commission as a Group I State Constable.  Responsibilities include: preparing and checking reports, testifying in court, training, supervising, and evaluating subordinate officers as instructed by the Department’s Command Staff, participating, planning, directing, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring all law enforcement and public safety activities within a shift or campus; ensuring enforcement and compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as colleges rules/regulations within a sound ethical, criminal and civil framework; executing orders from superiors and directly supervising subordinate officers effectively.  This position also will perform administrative duties as assigned.  This position is subject to working rotational shifts (24/7) at different TTC campuses.  Serves as a “duty” or “on-call supervisor” as assigned. TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME STAFF

Trades Specialist (Palmer Campus)  –  This part-time contract position requires a high school diploma or GED, and two (2) years directly related work experience; or a 10th grade education and four (4) years directly related work experience.  This position requires the candidate to work evenings and weekend hours to support special events at the Palmer Campus. The ability to operate both large and small equipment needed to perform job duties is essential. The ability to perform general maintenance and repair of building structures, to include mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems and assist with maintenance of grounds is required.  A valid South Carolina driver’s license is required.  Excellent customer service skills are also required. Knowledge of proper horticultural practices for pruning trees and shrubs, along with landscape installations is a plus.  Work week consist of 20 hours per week at $15.00 per hour.
