Students who are not in Nursing (NUR) courses are Pre-Nursing Students.

Options for Fall 2014 Registration

  • Walk – in: Monday through Thursday between 9 and 4:30 (students must be in line by 4:30 in order to register that day) in building 970 during the following dates:

    July 9 – August 5, 2014
    Payment deadline – August 20

    Location- Building 970- 1st floor reception desk
    Students may receive assistance with course selection, registration and information on nursing application process

    Bring the following:

    1. New students- test scores
    2. Transfer students- copy of your program evaluation from TTC Express
      showing your transferred course equivalents or copies of your unofficial transcripts
    3. Returning students- copy of program evaluation from TTC Express
  • Assigned advisor: If your assigned advisor is Barfield, Reed, Singleton, Lohr, O’Quinn, Fitzmaurice, Vierthaler, or Mathieson, you may use your my.tridenttech.edu account to e-mail your advisor for advising and registration assistance.
  • Registration after August 5

    You may receive assistance with course selection and registration in building 970 Monday – Thursday between 9 and 4:30. You may also register yourself online referring to the following for assistance http://www.tridenttech.edu/nursing_nur_register.htm.

    August 19- you may come to in person registration on Tuesday, August 19 between 8 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. in Building 970- 1st floor reception desk

Rules for Self Registration

  • All clinical sites, clinical schedules and clinical instructors are considered preliminary and subject to change up until the drop period ends. No clinical site, clinical schedule or clinical instructor is considered final until the drop period ends. Preliminary clinical sites, schedules and instructors are posted on the nursing web page at www.tridenttech.edu/nursing.htm > Current Students >class information..
  • Students must not register for clinical rotations at a clinical agency from which their employment has been terminated or they were asked to resign..
  • Students with any adverse findings on their background checks must not register for a clinical rotation until they check with Ms. Britton at nell.britton@tridenttech.edu .
  • Readmitted students must contact Ms. Britton in advance for a clinical assignment for the first course upon re-entry.
  • Students must meet the pre and co-requisites for all courses as stated in the Course Descriptions in the back of the College Catalog.
  • Consult the Student Information Booklet in the mandatory Online Nursing Orientation in D2L for the deadline to submit registration paperwork.
  • Nursing advisors reserve the right to administratively withdraw a student or change a student’s section for reasons such as, but not limited to, the student does not qualify for or meet the recommendations/requirements of the nursing division, college or clinical agency.

Advice for Registration

  • Anatomy and Physiology I (BIO 210), Introduction to Psychology (PSY 201), and English Composition (ENG 101) mustbe taken with or prior to NUR 102 and NUR 104 (if you are in the PN or ADN program). If BIO 210 was completed prior to Fall 2009, you must either repeat or update the course prior to or with NUR 102 and NUR 104.
  • Health Calculations (AHS 126) and Pharmacology for Nurses (NUR 105) mustbe taken with or prior to NUR 102 (if you are in the PN or ADN program).
  • Submit registration paperwork early. Use your Student Information Booklet in the mandatory Online Nursing Orientation/Essentials for New Nursing Students in D2L as a resource when preparing registration paperwork – pay attention to dates.
  • If you experience technical difficulty with self-registration, contact 843.574.6999 or TTCexpress@tridenttech.edu .
  • If you have questions about the courses for which you are registering, contact the appropriate department head by e-mail using your my.tridenttech.edu account.

Process for Registration
Step 1 – Complete all registration requirements as listed in the Student Information Booklet in the mandatory Online Nursing Orientation in D2L. Pay close attention to dates and deadlines.

Step 2 - Beginning July 9, 2014 submit the completed registration paperwork to the mailboxes labeled “Nursing Registration” outside of room 303 in the 970 building. Be sure to include:

  • Your completed Nursing Division Student Record. (All immunizations mustbe completed. Make a photocopy of your completed Student Record for your files. Be sure to attach copies of lab reports for all titers documented on the form.)
  • A photocopy (front and back) of your major medical insurance card, showing an effective date of no later than September 1, 2014.
  • A photocopy (front and back) of your CPR certification with an issue date of no earlier than December 30, 2012. (CPR cannot expire before December 30, 2014.)
  • A Nursing Program Evaluation from TTC Express.
  • A copy of your receipt for the Criminal Background Check and Urine Drug Screen from First Lab. (Must be requested between March 1, 2014 and June 1, 2014.)
  • A completed Disclosure and Authorization to Obtain Information Form.
  • Care Learning transcript with dates showing successful completion of the 14 mandatory inservices.
  • Handbook Signature Sheet for the 2014-2015 academic year.
  • Color copy of photo ID
  • Completed Registration Checklist.

Submit the completed registration paperwork no later than July 21, 2014 in order to allow adequate time for processing the paperwork so you can register by the registration deadline of August 4, 2014. Retain a copy of all the completed registration paperwork so that you will have them when questions arise.
Step 3 – Determine the course (s) you need to take. Follow the Recommended Sequence of Courses located in the nursing section of the Catalog for the program in which you are enrolled. This information is accessible on the TTC web page at www.tridenttech.edu > Academic Programs > Nursing.

Step 4 – Once you submit your registration paperwork, you may register in ten (10) full business days. A step-by-step power point presentation on how to self-register is available on the nursing web page at www.tridenttech.edu/nursing.htm > Registration for Courses > Registration Procedure.

    • Generic ADN and PN students: Register for NUR 102 first. Register for class (NUR 102 001) and then for clinical (one NUR 102C section).The skills lab and online seminar will be added automatically. Then register for NUR 104 (NUR 104 001) and the SAME clinical section that you registered for in NUR 102. The skills lab and online seminar will be added automatically.
    • CNA to ADN and CNA to PN students: Register for NUR 114 first. Register for class (NUR 114 001). The skills lab will be added automatically. Then register for NUR 104 (NUR 104 001) and clinical (one NUR 104C section). The skills lab and online seminar will be added automatically.

Step 5 - Meet the published payment deadline of August 20, 2014 in order to retain your selection. Students not meeting the published payment deadline will be purged. A clinical space is not guaranteed if you miss this deadline.
Step 6 - Meet the nursing division’s published deadline of August 4, 2014 for registration in order to retain your selection. Students not meeting the deadline will forfeit their space in the nursing program and will need to re-apply.

NOTE: After the deadline of August 4, 2014 you will no longer be able to make registration changes.

Rules for Registration: Progressing Students

  • Students must meet the pre and co-requisites for all courses as stated in the Course Descriptions in the back of the Catalog.
  • Students must register for class, clinical, and seminar.
  • Nursing advisors reserve the right to administratively withdraw a student or change a student’s section for reasons such as, but not limited to, the student does not qualify for or meet the recommendations/requirements of the nursing division, college or clinical agency.

Rules for Registration: Readmitted Students

  • Students being readmitted must contact Dr. Bradley in advance of registration for a clinical assignment.
  • Submit Registration Checklist (available at www.tridenttech.edu/nursing.htm > Current Nursing Student Resources > Forms) and any updates to Dr. Bradley.
  • Once clinical requirements have been updated as necessary, Dr. Bradley will register you as space becomes available. You will not use the self-registration process until you are back in the normal sequence of courses.

Advice for Registration

  • Anatomy and Physiology II (BIO 211) must be taken with or prior to NUR 158 and 159.
  • Microbiology (BIO 225) must be taken with or prior to NUR 209 if you are in the ADN program.
  • Human Growth and Development (PSY 203) must be taken with or prior to NUR 158.
  • Health Calculations II (AHS 129) must be taken prior to NUR 207 and 208.
  • Select clinical rotations in a variety of hospitals. This will give you an idea about what for profit, not for profit, state supported and teaching hospitals have to offer. It will also give you the opportunity to network with numerous health care employees and hiring managers and help you decide where you would like to be employed.

Process for Registration
Step 1 - Check TTC Express > Academic Profile > Nursing Student Immunizations to determine which clinical requirements will expire prior to or during the semester/term for which you are registering. Clinical requirements must not expire prior to the last day of clinical in the course for which you are registering. The system will block your registration if your clinical requirements are not current. You must resolve them before the system will allow you to register.
Step 2 – Beginning July 9, submit a completed Registration Checklist (available at www.tridenttech.edu/nursing.htm > Current Nursing Student Resources > Forms) to the mailboxes labeled “Nursing Registration” outside of Room 303 in the 970 Building. Attach a copy of any updates for all clinical requirements, including proof of completion of all fourteen (14) of the Care Learning Modules. Please put your name and student ID number on each update you submit. If you have updates, this must be submitted no later than July 21 in order to allow adequate time for processing these updates (see Step 4). Retain a copy of the updates and Registration Checklist so that you will have them when questions arise.
Step 3 – Determine the course(s) you need to take. Follow the Recommended Sequence of Courses located in the nursing section of the Catalog for the program in which you are enrolled. This information is accessible on the TTC web page at www.tridenttech.edu > Academic Programs > Nursing.

If you do have to update requirements, you may register in five (5) full business days following submission of the updates, as long as your updates are complete. For nursing courses, register first for the lecture section, then for a clinical section. The seminar will be added automatically.

Step 6 - Meet the nursing division’s published deadline of August 4 for registration, in order to retain your selection. Clinical spaces for Summer terms are not guaranteed if you miss this deadline.

Non-Credit Nursing Courses

Non-Credit Nursing Courses

Non-credit Nursing courses are offered through Trident Technical College's Continuing Education Division. Continuing education is training for adults, regardless of prior education. 

Continuing Education courses do not earn college credit and are not part of TTC's certificate, diploma or associate degree Nursing programs.
