Associate of Arts

TTC’s Associate in Arts degree is offered through the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Division. It emphasizes communication, social sciences and humanities. It many cases, it can provide students with the first two years of baccalaureate course work. The AA program is designed to prepare students for four-year (baccalaureate) majors in fields such as:

  • Other Humanities, Fine Arts and Social Sciences
AA students should consult with their academic advisors to discuss program requirements. Your AA advisor will work closely with you to pick courses that not only fulfill curriculum requirements for the AA degree but also, in most cases, fulfill the general education requirements at the four-year institution (if you plan to transfer).

Administrative Office Technology
Associate in Applied Science
Credit Requirements: 66 Semester Credit Hours

The Administrative Office Technology (AOT) associate degree program serves the need to professionally and technically train competent administrative employees for work as administrative support in both for-profit and non-profit offices of business, government, industry, medical, and legal organizations. Students who have successfully completed the Certified Professional Secretaries exam or the Certified Administrative Professional exam may receive semester credit. Students may receive college transfer credit for classes in which a grade of C or better was earned from other approved, accredited postsecondary institutions if those classes are comparable and also required in the Administrative Office Technology program. Official transcripts must be submitted before credit can be granted. Each AOT student should consult with an academic adviser to discuss program requirements. The adviser will work closely with the student to select courses that not only fulfill curriculum requirements for the degree but also match the student's interest in specific areas of employment.

Associate in Applied Science
Information Systems Specialist Career Path
Credit Requirements: 72 Semester Credit Hours

This program prepares students for careers in a variety of information technology areas. It gives students a foundation in computer hardware, computer applications, computer programming, the Internet and computer networking. Information systems administrators are involved in many different areas of computer technology and can expect to employ their skills in a variety of ways to assist all computer users in commercial settings. This program also allows students to become independent contractors, working with individuals and small businesses to overcome computer-related problems.

Criminal Justice
Associate in Public Service
Credit Requirements: 66 Semester Credit Hours

The Criminal Justice associate degree program serves the need for professionally trained and competent criminal justice practitioners. Generally, three groups of students are served: those who plan to seek employment in public or private agencies immediately upon completion of the two-year degree, those who are already employed in the system and have a desire for further education in order to qualify for professional advancement, and those who intend to pursue advanced studies in criminal justice, criminology or sociology at four-year institutions. Students may receive college transfer credit for classes in which a grade of C or better was earned from other approved, accredited postsecondary institutions. Customer Service
Credit Requirements: 69 Semester Credit Hours

The General Business/Customer Service career path prepares students for careers in service-related industries, including the fundamentals of customer service and the makeup of service businesses. Students will study customer relationship management, process standards, measurement systems and the importance of human assets in a firm's internal network along with the philosophy of customer service.

International Business
Credit Requirements: 69 Semester Credit Hours

The General Business/International Business career path prepares students for careers in the International Business environment. This career path includes studies in the global aspects of business, marketing, economics and management ,and their applications to the international arena.

Business Information Systems
Credit Requirements: 69 Semester Credit Hours

The Management/Business Information Systems career path prepares students with the skills to be competitive in the emerging technologies and advances in business information systems and processes. The program provides students with a broad overview of various computer and information technologies needed in the 21st century business environment.
