It many cases, it can provide students with the first two years of baccalaureate course work. The AA program is designed to prepare students for four-year (baccalaureate) majors in fields such as:

  • Business Administration
  • Accounting
  • Communication
  • Management
  • English
  • Foreign Language
  • Education
  • Music
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • History

AA students should consult with their academic advisors to discuss program requirements. Your AA advisor will work closely with you to pick courses that not only fulfill curriculum requirements for the AA degree but also, in most cases, fulfill the general education requirements at the four-year institution (if you plan to transfer).

Associate in Public Service
Credit Requirements: 66 Semester Credit Hours

The Criminal Justice associate degree program serves the need for professionally trained and competent criminal justice practitioners. Generally, three groups of students are served: those who plan to seek employment in public or private agencies immediately upon completion of the two-year degree, those who are already employed in the system and have a desire for further education in order to qualify for professional advancement, and those who intend to pursue advanced studies in criminal justice, criminology or sociology at four-year institutions. Students may receive college transfer credit for classes in which a grade of C or better was earned from other approved, accredited postsecondary institutions. Official transcripts must be submitted before credit can be granted. Contact your advisor for more information.
