Psychology and Behavioral Science Collection is an EBSCOhost Research Database which contains many collections of periodicals. All of these collections are designated by the EBSCOhost icon on the left hand side of the “Online Database” page from the LRC web site.
To search ALL of the collections at the same time choose Academic Search Premier from the “Online Database” page.
The following tips can be used for all the EBSCOhost databases.
FIND:
Type in your search terms. You do not need to place the terms in quotes to search this database. Click the Search button. Your results will be listed with the most recent article first. Click on the blue article name to read the article. The result list will include:
- Full Text - displays citation, abstract if available, and the full-text of the article.
- Abstract - displays bibliographic citation and abstract.
- Citation - displays bibliographic citation.
LIMITING THE SEARCH (OPTIONAL):
- Full-text - check the box if you only want to retrieve articles that contain the entire full-text (Remember, articles that aren't full-text may be available in hard copy at Trident or one of the surrounding libraries in the Charleston Area i.e. C of C, CSU, The Citadel, MUSC, Charleston County Public. If at another library, the article can be obtained through our Interlibrary Loan agreement.
- By Date - Specify a date or date range (Ex 1999-2002, since 9/11/2001, 2/1/2002 on)
- By Publication - Specify a specific journal to be searched at one time by using the browse key, selecting the journals, and clicking the submit selections button.
- Scholarly (peer-reviewed) – Specify that you only want articles that have been peer-reviewed or from Scholarly journals.
RETRIVEAL OPTIONS:
- Print - By selecting the print button the article or citation will be made available for printing. Click the "OK" button to begin printing.
- E-mail - Send full-text articles, summaries, source information, etc to an email account.
