TTC's electronic books provided through netLibrary are available through TTC's online library (TRION) or through the list of online databases. (www.tridenttech.edu/library.htm)
Electronic Books (books) are electronic versions of printed books. They can be viewed online wherever access to the Internet is available. You can view books 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You don’t have to worry about overdues, late fines, etc.
Searching for an eBook Searching can be done in various ways. Use the basic search screen that appears on the netlibrary home page, or use advanced search to narrow your search terms by: author, title, subject, etc. In addition, most of the eBooks can be found when searching the library catalog. The eBooks are marked with [electronic resource] near the title of the books in the catalog.

Copyright Protection All netLibrary ebooks, except those in the publicly accessible eBook Collection, are protected by copyright laws. In addition, the following precautions ensure the protection of intellectual property:
1. All user IDs and passwords must be unique. This means that different users cannot simultaneously use the same ID or password.
2. When viewing an eBook online, you can display only one page at a time; netLibrary delivers a copyright message if a suspicious usage pattern indicative of excessive printing or copying is detected.
My list and notes My list and notes feature allows you to place a book in your personal collection. Then, when you want to use the book again, you can go right to the My List and Notes link, click on a title and view the book without having to do a completely new search. Titles can be added or removed from this list at any time. You must be logged into your account to use this feature.
Also the My list and notes feature allows you to add notes to a specific page of an eBook. If you have notes in an eBook, they will be displayed on the lower half of the Notes tab. You may choose to edit your note, go to the page in the eBook for the note, or remove the note.
Example:
Literary Criticism resources are needed on Flannery O’Connor’s A Good Man is Hard to Find.
Using Advanced Search 1. Type in the subject field “Flannery O’Connor” and “criticism” in the keyword field. 2. Click Search. 3. The resulting books all deal with this subject. (Note: A search with just Flannery O’Connor actually resulted in one more helpful title. Students may need general biographical information also). 4. Select a title and click on the link. 5. The book will appear with an option to view. |
