The Health and Wellness Center is part of the Gale Group of Databases powered by Infotrac. This Center offers health related information found in magazines, journals, newsletters, newspapers, pamphlets, and reference materials. The center also includes a Medical Encyclopedia, Drug Finder, Health Assessment Tools, Health Organization Directory, Medical Dictionary, and a section on Health News.
SEARCH FOR INFORMATION
Use the search field to input your terms. You may also be specific in the dates you chose to search. Most Nursing and Allied Health articles should not be older than 5 years unless you are doing historical research.
LIMITING THE SEARCH (OPTIONAL)
- Full-text - check the box if you only want to retrieve articles that contain the entire full-text (Remember, articles that aren't full-text may be available in hard copy at Trident or one of the surrounding libraries in the Charleston Area i.e. C of C, CSU, The Citadel, MUSC, Charleston County Public. If at another library, the article can be obtained through our Interlibrary Loan agreement.
- By Date - Specify a date or date range (Ex 1999-2002, since 9/11/2001, 2/1/2002 on)
- Refereed publications - Refereed journals are those in which articles, before they are published, must be reviewed by a body of peers, experts in the same field as the writer.
The resulting list will appear. Information in all or some of the following tabs will appear:
- Reference - displays full text information from reference books, such as: The Gale Encyclopedia of Childhood and Adolescence.
- Magazines and Journals - displays full text articles .
- Pharmacy - displays information about any medicine associated to the search terms.
- Pamphlets - displays any flyers or pamphlets published on the search terms
RETRIEVAL OPTIONS
- Print - made available for printing. Click on the "OK" button to begin printing.
- Email - Send full-text articles, summaries, source information, etc to an email account.
