Students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions tend to enroll in either the AA or the AS program, depending upon their proposed major at the four-year institution.
When the student applies and goes through TTC's orientation process, the orientation leader will assign the student a specialty advisor in the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences. The advisor will work closely with the AA student to choose courses that not only will fulfill curriculum requirements for the AA degree but also, in most cases, fulfill the general education requirements at the four-year institution. Potential transfer students should also get a catalog from and perhaps even have a contact at the prospective college/university.
The AA degree seeking student will find the degree practical and its courses transferable for majors in the following disciplines at most four year institutions:
- Accounting
- Art/Art History
- Business Administration
- Communication
- Education
- English
- Foreign Language
- History
- Management
- Music
- Political Science
- Pre-Law
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Other Humanities, Fine Arts and Social Sciences.
