FULL-TIME STAFF

 

Administrative Coordinator I #1486  – This position requires a bachelor's degree and two (2) years relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or an associate degree and four (4) years of relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services.  Paralegal education and work experience is preferred.  Ideal candidate will have experience with contracts, legal matters, government relations and FOIA responses. The ability to comprehend and interpret College policies and procedures is critical. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task in a high stress environment, organize and maintain database systems, and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Successful candidate must be knowledgeable of general office practices, procedures and filing systems; display self-direction, leadership, cooperation, and initiative; be detail oriented; and possess excellent computer, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Exceptional proofreading skills are also a must. This position serves as the assistant to the President’s Executive Assistant and is responsible for managing and coordinating the administrative functions for the President’s Office, creating and providing correspondence for the President and Executive Assistant, and supporting assigned institutional activities and special events. Law Enforcement Officer I #1458, #1467 and #1480 These positions require a high school diploma PLUS two (2) years work experience in law enforcement.  An equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience may be considered.   Excellent customer service skills are essential. A graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy as a certified police officer and campus law enforcement experience as well as a working knowledge of state, county and municipal laws is also preferred. Experience in corrections cannot be substituted for law enforcement experience. Successful candidates should have working knowledge of modern police methods and procedures, and the ability to prepare reports and testify in court. Candidates should have the physical ability to enforce laws and deal appropriately with the public. Must be able to work rotating shifts on a 24/7 schedule. TEMPORARY AND PART-TIME STAFF

 

Administrative Specialist (Science and Mathematics) – To qualify for this part-time contract position, you must have at least an associate’s degree; or a high school diploma and two (2) years of related work experience.  The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be proficient in Microsoft office systems; possess knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment; and be able to work independently, effectively and efficiently.  Excellent customer service and organizational skills are essential for this position.  Duties include, but are not limited to, handling diversified data and maintaining confidential information, assisting with supervision of work-study students, operating a multi-line phone system, and giving correct basic college information or referrals to the appropriate college department.  Work hours may vary depending on demand and can be up to 25 hours a week.  Typical summer hours are Monday-Thursday from 12:00 PM-5:00 PM and Fridays 8:00 AM-12:00 PM and may change in the fall.  This position is open until filled.

Aircraft Assembly Lab Technician – To qualify for this part-time contract  position, you must have at least four (4) years of practical experience in the field of aircraft assembly, manufacturing, or maintenance. Position requires some knowledge and experience of aircraft assembly subjects such as sheet metal and composite technology, aircraft electricity and wiring, and aircraft plumbing. Excellent customer service skills are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.  Working hours are 20 – 25 hours per week Monday – Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM.  This position is open until filled.

Avionics Lab Technician –This position requires a degree or certificate from a formal electronics school, civilian or military, PLUS two (2) years of related work experience and a FCC GROL license. Preference is given to applicants with NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician and FAA airframe and powerplant certification. Knowledge and experience in aircraft electrical/electronic systems, wiring installation and component level troubleshooting and repair is essential. Excellent customer service skills are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled. 

Event Assistant – This part-time contract position requires an associate degree; or a high school diploma and two (2) years related work experience. The successful candidate must be organized and detail oriented; have knowledge of general office practices, procedures and filing systems; and is expected to display self–direction, leadership, cooperation and initiative. The ability to lift twenty (20) pounds, work effectively with administrative support staff, management, vendors and external customers is critical. Successful candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology and be proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent computer, customer service, and interpersonal skills are essential. Knowledge of the Delphi operating system is preferred. This position assists the Events Coordinator with all event coordination and Conference Service operations; works with varied customers and vendors who use the College facilities; and assists in arranging details of events with set up staff and food service contractor. This position works within the Culinary Institute of Charleston in a variety of responsibilities as part of the CIC division.  This position will work 20 – 25 hours a week within The Culinary Institute of Charleston.  Work hours will vary depending on demand and will include nights and weekends.  Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Mathematics Tutors (The Learning Center) – These part-time contract positions require a minimum of 12 hours of college-level mathematics with a grade of A or B in all mathematics courses attempted. Preferred applicants will possess at least 15 hours of college-level mathematics, including a statistics course. Ideal candidates will have experience tutoring mathematics within a college environment and a demonstrated commitment to the continuous improvement and evaluation of successful tutoring strategies to increase student success.  Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. Positions are available at Main, Berkeley and Palmer campuses.  Candidates must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
