Welding Instructor/ Lab Technician #1495 (Revised) – This position requires a bachelor’s degree in welding technology or a closely related field; or an associate degree in welding technology or a closely related field plus a minimum of five (5) years experience to include welding training and teaching, and basic mechanical maintenance skills.  Candidates will be required to acquire Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and Certified Welding Educator (CWE) certifications from AWS if not currently held. Candidates not holding the appropriate degree may be considered, but must be willing to complete the degree in a timely manner. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Qualified applicants must successfully complete welding performance tests in the shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) processes. Aircraft Manufacturing Technology Instructor This position requires a bachelor’s degree in aircraft manufacturing, aircraft maintenance, or related area OR an associate degree PLUS two (2) years of related work experience. Position also requires comprehensive knowledge and experience in aircraft manufacturing processes with emphasis given to:  sheet metal and composite structures, aircraft materials and hand tools, fluid line assembly, corrosion identification and control, and basic electrical systems. Ideal candidate will have FAA airframe certificate as well as an FCC GROL license. Electrical & Automated Technologies Instructors – These positions require a bachelor’s degree or an associate degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering technology or a related field plus five (5) years electrician experience. An equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience may be considered. Ideal candidates must have actual work knowledge in electrical construction, setting, wiring methods, trade practices, materials based on the National Electric Code in a residential, commercial, or industrial setting. Network Systems Management Instructors (Transfer Courses) –To qualify for these positions, you must have a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in computer science, information technology, information resource management, or information assurance. Industry certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware, LPI, Red Hat, or Cisco are also preferred. Excellent customer service skills are required. Nursing Instructors (ADN) – Part-time instructors needed to provide clinical instruction/supervision for 8 - 9 students on an adult medical surgical acute care unit.  Clinical rotations are available for 7 or 14 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays or Mondays and Wednesdays.  A BSN PLUS enrollment in and 50% completion of a masters degree nursing program or an MSN is required.  Candidates must also have a minimum of two (2)  years recent clinical experience in medical surgical nursing as an RN and a current SC RN license.  Clinical teaching experience in an ADN or BSN program preferred.  Excellent customer service skills are a plus.  Salary is commensurate with education and experience.  These positions are open until filled.

Philosophy Instructor –To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a master’s degree in philosophy or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in philosophy. Excellent customer service skills are required. Previous college level teaching experience is preferred. Must be willing to teach at any one of the four Trident Technical College campuses, including the Berkeley campus. Please submit a copy of your graduate transcripts with your application. Physics InstructorsThese positions require a master’s degree in Physics or a master’s degree with 18 semester hours of graduate-level Physics. Required knowledge base includes content related to assigned teaching responsibilities in Physics and Astronomy lectures and laboratories. Three years full-time equivalent experience teaching Astronomy, and both algebra-based and calculus-based Physics, at the two-year college level is preferred. Must be capable of lifting/assembling heavy telescopes and performing night sky observations. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. These positions are open until filed.

Political Science Instructors –To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a master’s degree in political science or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in political science. Excellent customer service skills are also required. Previous college level teaching experience is preferred.  Must be willing to teach at any one or more of the four Trident Technical College campuses, including the Berkeley campus. Psychology Instructors – These positions require a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline of psychology.  The graduate courses must have the PSY department abbreviation. Teaching experience is preferred. Sociology Instructors – To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a master’s degree in sociology or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours of sociology. Graduate hours in social work cannot be substituted for sociology. Excellent customer service skills are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Speech Instructors –To qualify for these positions you must have at least a master’s in speech communication or a master’s in a related area with 18 graduate credit hours in speech communication.  Please include a copy of your graduate transcripts (unofficial copies acceptable) with your application.  Instructors will teach Introduction to speech courses in a traditional classroom setting. There is a possibility that classes will be available on all four TTC campuses, so travel may be required. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are required. Theater Instructors – To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a MFA in theatre or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in theatre. Instructors are needed to teach Introduction to Theatre in a traditional classroom setting. There is a possibility that classes will be available on all four TTC campuses, so travel may be required. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Excellent customer service skills are required. Visual Arts Instructors – To qualify for these positions, you must have at least a bachelor’s or associate degree in multimedia, media arts, graphic design or a related field. Work experience in the areas of graphic design, web design and/or multimedia and the ability to work with Adobe Master Suite on both PC and Macintosh platforms is critical. College level teaching experience in the field of visual arts is preferred. These positions will teach in the areas of 2D Design, Color Theory, Graphic Design, and Web Design. Teamwork, leadership, goal setting, workplace/personal communication and excellent customer service skills are essential. Candidate must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Welding Instructor – To qualify for this position, you must have at least a minimum of five (5) years current welding experience and must pass certification tests in each welding process taught. Teaching/training experience and an associate degree in a related area is preferred. Instructors are needed to teach entry-level through advanced classes in shielded metal arc, gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux cored arc, and oxyacetylene/plasma arc/carbon arc cutting processes as well as related courses in blueprint reading, metallurgy, welding safety, and weld inspection, testing, and codes. Excellent customer service skills are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. This position is open until filled.
