B. Black bio

Ben Black joined the culinary faculty at Trident Technical College in 1997 after teaching culinary courses for Greenville Technical College prior to that time. He now serves as an Instructor of Culinary Arts for the Culinary Institute. Chef Black has worked for several Charleston restaurants including Bocci’s Italian Restaurant. In addition to experience as a culinary educator and industry chef, Chef Black is a member of the US Coast Guard Reserves—called to active during immediately after 9/11. An active member of the American Culinary Federation, Black has served as a team evaluator for accreditation reviews of other culinary programs. He completed a bachelors degree from Charleston Southern University, a Masters degree in computer information from  Webster University, and the Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC) designation from the American Culinary Federation.
