  • FAQs
    1. How long are the associate degree programs?
      You can earn an associate degree in just two years in Culinary Arts Technology (70 credit hours) or Hospitality and Tourism Management (68 credit hours).
    2. How long are the certificate programs?
      You can earn certificates in Baking and Pastry or Hospitality Industry Service in a minimum of two semesters (18-24 credit hours).
    3. Does the Culinary Institute of Charleston offer any Advanced Certificate Programs?
      There are Advanced Certificate Programs in Culinary Arts, Advanced Culinary Arts, Advanced Baking and Pastry, Hotel Operations, and Event Management.
    4. What are the admission requirements for the Culinary Arts Technology and Hospitality and Tourism Management programs?
      The admission requirements are a high school diploma or GED and qualifying scores on the SAT, ACT or TTC's placement test.  For information on TTC's placement test, visit Testing Services. For more details about the admission process, visit Admissions.
    5. Is financial aid available?
      Yes. To qualify for financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ or you may pick up one in the Financial Aid office on Main and Palmer campuses and in the Admissions office at Berkeley Campus.     6. Am I eligible for lottery-funded tuition assistance?
      Eligibility for lottery-funded tuition assistance is not based on income. Any TTC students who are South Carolina residents may be eligible for lottery funding if they qualify for in-state tuition rates according to state law.     7. Do you offer scholarships?

    8. Where is the Culinary Institute of Charleston located?
      The Culinary Institute of Charleston is located on two of Trident Technical College's Campuses in Charleston, South Carolina: in the 920 Building theMain Campus at 7000 Rivers Avenue and in the downtown Palmer Campus at 66 Columbus St. 
    9. Do you have on-campus housing?
      TTC does not have on-campus housing, but there are many housing options in the area. Visit Apartmentguide.com,  Apartments.com and Apartmentfinder.com for apartments in the Charleston area.
    10. Where can I stay while visiting the campus?
      There are many lodging options. Visit Charleston Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for a listing. You can choose to stay near the Palmer Campus and the historic Charleston area or very near the Main Campus at a number of new hotels.
