Lisa Buzzelli joined the Culinary Institute of Charleston in August 2008 as an instructor for the Hospitality and Tourism Management program. In June 2000, she helped open the Charleston IMAX Theatre and served as its director for eight years. Her career also includes more than seven years with Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, where her duties involved public relations and managing special events. She holds an associate degree in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales and a bachelorís degree in communication arts from Columbia College. Other work experience includes four years of work for the U.S. Senate coordinating the largest intern and page program on Capitol Hill. Lisa serves on various boards and committees, including the Charleston Area Convention and Visitor Bureauís Board of Governors, the BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival, the Lowcountry Food Bank, the Chefs' Feast, the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau Travel Council, and the Junior League of Charleston. She has been recognized for her commitment to the community with the Post and Courier's Jefferson Award for volunteerism and the Charleston Regional Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award. She is also a recent graduate of Leadership Charleston 2008.
