PERSONAL COUNSELING

College can be a stressful time of transitional changes. Students are concerned about academics, relationships, their sexuality, finances, and dealing with the college experience on a daily basis. As a result, students suffer anxiety, depression, substance abuse and other mental health related issues. Talking things over with a counselor gives you a chance to benefit from another viewpoint as you determine how you might want to approach a difficult or challenging situation.

Counselors may provide personal counseling services to any enrolled student. We also provide services to former students who are sitting out a semester and/or who are clearly preparing to return to college. Counselors are equipped to refer cases requiring treatment or services beyond the staffing capabilities of the department to appropriate community resources (public and/or private).
